  • A Wonderful Place to Stay with a Crowd!

"Our stay here could not have been any better! We gathered together for a 40th anniversary celebration for my parents over New Year’s weekend and it was a lovely experience. With 8 adults and 8 children under 7y.o, this house magically met all of our needs. The open feeling of the house allowed for the kids to play, the adults to hang out and all of us to just be together without being on top of one another! There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably which was a gift with this many young children. The in-law suite downstairs was a big bonus with more sleeping spaces and the pool table. With most of the bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms on one main level, the house was also very accessible for my father who has mobility issues. The kitchen was in good condition and allowed for cooking for a big crowd. The dining room table would not have accommodated all of us but we did a kid’s early dinner and a grown up dinner each night so it worked well for us. The house was clean with plenty of fresh linens and towels when we arrived. The directions and information provided by the owners were very helpful. The house is in a great location and the hills out front allowed for a great sledding area for our crew. The cows were also a big hit! The only suggestion I would have for travelers with small children (crawlers or new walkers) would be to bring a couple of gates for the stairs. This will allow everyone to roam more freely! We would recommend this house to friends and family without hesitation and will certainly keep it in mind for future family gatherings!"

  • Lovely stay in the Berkshires

"They have a well maintained home that is perfect for people traveling with or without little ones! My wife and I have a one-year old and we appreciated how child safe their home is, especially the door that shuts off the top of the stairs from the rest of the main room! The location is great! Very peaceful and serine, but also not to far from the nearby towns of Sheffield, Great Barrington, Canaan, Salisbury, and Millerton. The owners were very attentive to our needs (such as getting the internet up and running again). I highly recommended this home as a vacation rental!"

  • A wonderful, large home for reunions!

"Our group of 10 adults and 3 children had a fantastic reunion weekend at Adam and Linda's Pittsfield home! With 9 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, 2 lounging areas and 2 dining areas, there was more than enough space for all and lots of fun was had by both children and "big kids." We enjoyed many shared meals and the home was nicely set up for larger groups with extra folding chairs and lots of serveware and utensils. The children of the group enjoyed the blocks and games as well as the swingset and friendly horses to pet. Linda and Adam were very responsive to emails and clearly care about the home as it was spotless and maintained, a task for such a large property! In all, everyone remarked that this would be the perfect new spot for our annual reunion as our families continue to grow, we'd love to come back!"

  • charming comfortable house in beautiful area

"Our family of 5, with 3 adult children, immensely enjoyed our Columbus Day weekend stay at the Stockbridge Farmhouse. The house feels very spacious - perks of eat in kitchen, separate dining room, ample sized bedrooms, lovely sitting and living room areas. It feels well loved and lived in, clean and well equipped. The cabinets in the kitchen go on and on - a space for everything, and every utensil, pot, pan you could want. Two sets of dishes, one for everyday and one in the china cabinet, for dinner parties. We had friends and family join us for dinner one night - there were eight of us at the table, and we didn't even use all the extra table leaves. But what I like most about the house is the feeling of peace that pervades it. The first floor living/dining/kitchen areas are at interesting angles to each other, so sitting in one, you can see through to another, each with its own windows looking in different directions. The house is surrounded by trees (there is a yard to sit in, don't worry). And the dappled sunlight in the morning is more than lovely. The house is in a great location: minutes away from Stockbridge town center (which is in the heart of the Berkshires) but with a feeling of being on its own, out in the country. Siblings Katie and Bill, whose great grandfather built this house, were super, very pleasant, efficient and helpful; Katie takes care of the arrangements, and Bill is the caretaker who lives in another house on the property. In short, I most highly recommend the Stockbridge Farmhouse for your stay in the Berkshires."
