  • Great place for a family weekend

"We rented this house because it is centrally located between cities where different members of our family live. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend, and this was ideal for that. There is plenty of parking, and the house is separated from the owners house by 2, two car garages. The house appears to have been built within the last few years, everything is modern and functional with fast free WIFI, flat screen TV, and a large kitchen with an island. The house is tucked back in the woods, yet within 10 minutes of any stores you would need. The owners are very nice, and only interacted with us when necessary, such as removing our trash and recyclables. The couches could be more comfortable, but a small price to pay for a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Ideal for large family yet cozy for few!

"Finding a place which was not only geographically suitable but would also accommodate our large family was a challenge. Red Lion cottages were booked for the 3 day holiday weekend so finding this home was the perfect solution. Just minutes to town, the location is terrific. The house is warm and inviting, with an enormous modern stone hearth where we played many scrabble games and enjoyed late night conversations in front of the fire. We loved the cozy breakfast nook in the kitchen waking up with a cup of coffee and it worked great as extra prep area where people could sit and chat with those that were busy cooking in the kitchen. Bedrooms are plentiful and comfortable and the layout works well for multiple families. We will be returning for another 50th birthday celebration!"

  • A wonderful Berkshire getaway

"DON'T RENT THIS PLACE...so that we can have it all to ourselves! Obviously, this is said in jest. We just loved the apartment. It offered a great view of Rising Pond through the picture window. Check out the great sunsets from the deck, read a book, have coffee there in the morning. Both bedrooms were spacious, the kitchen well stocked, the bathroom bright with many towels and the place was spotless. You are located in wonderful Housatonic, a quiet, quaint, yet central location. Have breakfast and maybe dinner at low cost, incredibly good Main and Pleasant. Drive 15 minutes to Beartown State Park/Benedict Pond, a great place to hike or swim. Make sure to stop at Holts Farm for fantastic sandwiches. You are 15 minute from Tanglewood and Lenox on low trafficked Rte 183, and minutes from the Rockwell Museum."

  • Perfect for a Big Family with Little Kids

"What a beautiful and perfect spot for a week's vacation with the family. We had 10 adults and 5 kids (4 under 5 years old), and the house held us wonderfully. The bedroom setup worked out great with enough beds (+1 pull-out couch) for the grownups (5 couples) and a couple with enough room for pack n plays, a bunk room that 2 4-year-olds shared and could've been used for 4 kids had they been older, and even a cool nook of a room with two built-in twins that was perfect for a 13-year-old girl to escape the rest of our craziness. The common spaces had plenty of seating for both hanging out and eating together, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cookware and dishes we needed. There are 3 separate TVs, so plenty of ways to split up different tastes, although we never had to use them. And I have to mention the very new looking and huge washer and dryer as they were very useful to have. The property itself is amazing. The huge, flat yard between the house and the lake was just perfect for lots of running around and playing games. The small beach was great for the kids and has a nice gentle slope into the water. The kids loved jumping off the small dock, and we made frequent use of the kayaks and canoe for paddling around and even a little fishing. This particular area of the lake was particularly quiet and calm. There's a peninsula on one side offering lots of protection and the entire opposite coastline belongs to a park and a health center, so it's all trees with no development. If you're looking for an easy lake vacation with family and friends, you'd be hard pressed to find something better."
