"Loved this house! Very artfully decorated with good size bedrooms, large open spaces on the first level with a large kitchen. Master bedroom was like an apartment occupying the entire third level. The location was breathtaking, with views of the Monomoy Islands and beyond. We were all happy to stay at the house, enjoy the view, and wander and explore the acres and acres of trails. Lovely sandy beach that went on and on, with hardly a soul on it. My nephew caught an good size stripper from the shore, a short distance from the house.... an experience he will not soon forget. Couldn't have had a better time!"

  • Fantastic cottage charm

"This beach cottage getaway was exactly what we needed! The house itself is very quaint, and has all of the amenities that we needed, but it's number 1 asset is the location. The Mill Pond is a few hundred yards away, and the kayaking was great. Lots of fish and a few seals cursing around in between the boats. For the ocean side, Lighthouse Beach is about 2 blocks away, but there is also a quieter beach at the end of Water Street that we used more often. The kids loved seeing all of the seals from the shore, but also took a boat tour for a closer view of the masses. It was great to stay in a pace that had a kitchen, and we took advantage by cooking a handful of meals that we ate outside on the deck, A short walk to Main Street gave us most of our other dining and plenty of shopping. A 5 minute drive to Chatham Seaside Links provided a little local 9 hole golf fun. For bigger golf, we drove about 25 minutes to Ocean Edge Resort to play a Nicklaus course, and that was fantastic. For a more extravagant snacks and sunset cocktails, we visited The Chatham Bars Inn and sat on the porch to look out over the water. The owners were super accommodating, and easy to work with. We had the pleasure of meeting them just before we left, and let them know that we will be back for other visits, for sure. We would highly recommend staying here!!!"

  • A charming place in an excellent location.

"The house dates from 1826 and is very charming. It is a 2 minute walk to Main St and all the restaurants etc of Chatham. The owners were very nice people and very attentive without being intrusive. We are a family of 4 and really enjoyed our time in Chatham and found the accommodation met our needs well. Highly recommended. We liked the atmosphere of The Squire. Tip - phone first to get on the waiting list. Not as keen on the Goose. We found the Chatham Market to be very expensive for groceries. Instead we used the Stop and Shop a few miles away."

  • Great experience

"We had such a good time in the cape, and it all started with our home away from home The Chatham Retreat...A beautiful place to stay in such a nice area. My wife my 4 year old son and myself stayed fit 4 days and were very pleased with the place. Very choose to the beach where we could walk to every day. Close to everything in town. Not a bad thing to say about this place. We will definitely be returning to this spot. THANK YOU VERY MUCH"
