  • The Cottage Majal

""Cottage Majal" is what the gatekeeper calls Chatham Beach Cottages, and you do feel rather special swanning into this neat, briskly New England compound with two rental cottages. You are on a peninsula formed by Buck's Creek, a spectacular marsh that flows into the sea, and you are in a delightful cottage with a view of a truly fine beach on Nantucket Sound. Better still, you are about 150 steps from the beach itself. We are pretty sure you cannot live closer to one of the best beaches on the Cape. The cottage Seadaisy was charming, bright and well-equipped; the owners, Scott and his mother Ann, are really lovely people, hospitable and full of very good information. The beach is public and popular, but you can find quite a roomy stretch even on the most crowded weekend--we know, we were there! There is a snack bar and a sailboat rental, and the staffs are exceptionally helpful. If you are into kayaking, sailboarding or entertaining children, the Creek is fabulous. If you want to wander out in the dark and look at the stars with warm sifty sand under your feet, you have come to the right place. We loved every minute of our two weeks and hope to return. Soon."

  • Great family home in a terrific location

"We spent four nights at this comfortable, well-equipped home. Two young couples, one with a 2-year old and the other with a 3-month old, plus the young and active grandparents. It was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed going to a Chatham Anglers' baseball game, short drive or long walk into town, and walking to Oyster Pond. It was so nice to have beach chairs and games for our use. The house is not fancy, but very comfortable; the bedrooms are huge. We didn't even use one of the sitting rooms; it was spacious enough for the seven of us without it. Full basement with laundry and more space if you need it. The backyard is lovely and big, and the neighborhood is very peaceful. Nice outdoor deck with a grill. We enjoyed spending time in Chatham, and it was also a good location from which to explore other parts of the Cape; my husband rented a bike and explored quite a bit of the Cape from there. Our only disappointment was that we did not have more time."

  • Delightful cottage with everything you need; perfect location

"This property is centrally located to the downtown part of Chatham, and had everything we needed for our stay with a 14-month old toddler. The cottage is small, but equipped with all the necessities. Very comfortable and charming. Having the shed complete with wagon and beach accessories to include chairs, umbrella, toys, was icing on the cake."

  • Terrific New England Home in Chatham

"Looking for a comfortable home -- on the water -- for your Chatham vacation? Then look no further! We have been vacationing in Chatham for years and absolutely loved our stay at Mike and Donna’s home this past year. This home has all the New England charm, spacious common areas, a fully equipped kitchen, wonderful deck, beautiful grounds and it’s own beach! It doesn’t get much better than that. We rented the home for three weeks, entertained family and friends and simply enjoyed every day at this wonderful home. Given the three large bedrooms and three full baths, we had plenty of room when our Connecticut family came to visit and spend the night. The home is located in a beautiful neighborhood that is also just minutes from the restaurants and shops in downtown Chatham. It is fully equipped with everything you need for a restful vacation. We walked daily through the neighborhood, down by Oyster River or to Hardings Beach. Over the years, we’ve rented many different homes in Chatham and we give this one our highest recommendation and all 5 stars!"
