  • Worth the Wait!

"Our family and out of town friend spent all summer looking forward to this vacation and it was so worth the wait. The island is special and the house is situated in a location that provides early morning sunrises and gorgeous evening sunsets over the water. When we weren't kayaking or boating to the sandy public beach, we spent hours playing bocce, enjoying the outdoor seating, especially the hammock for me, and cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. I have to echo the previous reviews, Rod and Murphy are fantastic hosts, going so above and beyond in welcoming guests to the island. Pack light, we didn't follow that advice and it was a mistake. Truly, the house has everything you could need in terms of linens, towels, staples, bug spray, games and beach and lawn toys. Check it out first before you load up on food supplies beyond a day or two, the information binder has all the information you need for nearby shopping. The boats are pretty easy to handle and the ride is lovely. Beds are really comfortable and ceiling fans everywhere, so delightful sleeping. Lots of privacy and quiet areas to sneak away with a book. This is a unique and extraordinary vacation spot!"

  • wonderful, charming, perfectly located home

"We loved our stay at the Lena Coleman apartment in Ship's Light! We could walk to everything Chatham has to offer, just two quiet blocks away from the main shopping/dining strip, and a 15-20 minute walk to Chatham lighthouse beach with its sandbar seals or to the fishing pier. The house showed so many thoughtful touches, from the string of white lights that allowed soft lighting in the bedroom to the custom cushions on the window seat. The cozy eat-in kitchen had everything we needed, and personally I loved the immaculate antique sink. We enjoyed waking up to rain pattering on our slanted ceilings one morning, and on a sunnier day having a glass of wine on the deck off the bedroom. We also appreciated the access to laundry in the garage. Thank you to the owners for creating such a wonderful space!"

  • great little place, tucked away but close to everything

"We stayed for a weekend while checking on renovations on our house in Truro. The place was comfortable and the local neighbours were friendly. Here during off-season, I didn't know what expect. It was a peaceful pleasant surprise. We and the dogs were quite comfortable. Parking was fantastic. I will want to stay here again."

  • a perfect spot for a family reunion

"The set up of this house is ideal for an extended family to have a great vacation together. Everything we needed was right there and we loved Scargo Lake and Dr. Lord's Beach within walking distance as well as biking to other beaches and Scargo Tower. The house was more than we expected with a large well equipped kitchen made for group cooking. The roof deck is awesome!"
