  • Great Family Get A Away

"Interestingly enough our family has vacationed on Cape Cod for over forty years at a family beach house on Cape Cod bay. This is the first year we have rented and the first year we have been in the Cotuit area. We were struck immediately by the difference in pace and sensibilities between the two areas. We found Cotuit and the surrounding area to be almost the perfect place for relaxation. The house is as described and easily accommodated our family. It is isolated from the sound of road traffic and is not disturbed by the motor boats along the bay. The property is on a ocean bay and there is a small private beach with room for chairs and kids. The house is spacious but you will no doubt spend most of the time on the deck or large screened porch. The house easily sleeps eight and the sink in every room definitely has its advantages. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and gas grill also. The beach permit is an added and needed bonus. There were two Cotuit beaches - one you could walk to and the other within a few minutes drive."

  • A simple cottage in shade of pines, firs and oaks.

"We have enjoyed our stay at this property. The beautiful wooded, private yard is quiet, cool and relaxing. Our two grandchildren, 4 and 6 years old, liked to watch the wild turkeys, play hide and seek, and build "animal traps" and "hiding places" out of dry branches. We slept on the enclosed porch, falling asleep to the rustle of the trees and waking up to the sounds of birds. We've been vacationing at Cape Cod for the past 5 years, every year staying at a different place. The local beaches didn't impress us. We found the beach on John's lake (Back Road, Mashpee) more suitable for small children. The beach wasn't crowded, had clean water, sand, was surrounded by trees, had a new playground, a covered picnic area and rest rooms ($15 for non residents). The children improved their swimming skills!"

  • Lovely, Quiet, Fantastic Location for family ~

"Cotuit is a great vacation destination. Close to whatever you might like to see and do on the Cape, but also "away from it all." This house has a nice open concept layout and all the necessary kitchen and grill stuff for cooking meals during your stay. The sunset views are spectacular. Kayaking was great, especially in the early morning when the water was very calm and quiet. There is a swan in the bay, lots of osprey. One afternoon we paddled up the Santuit River (under the bridge ) and actually saw a BALD EAGLE in a skirmish with a couple of osprey. Then on the way back, we saw an otter in the rushes, stared at us for a moment and then slipped into the water. Very cool. There are great places to walk in Cotuit, two are walking distance from the house. We brought our dog and she loved going for walks at the two conservation areas. There is a beach sticker for parking at all beaches and docks in all of Barnstable. The welcome sheet describes favorite beaches and how to get to them. We had a great week! Will probably book this place again next summer!!"
