  • Great Family Get A Away

"Interestingly enough our family has vacationed on Cape Cod for over forty years at a family beach house on Cape Cod bay. This is the first year we have rented and the first year we have been in the Cotuit area. We were struck immediately by the difference in pace and sensibilities between the two areas. We found Cotuit and the surrounding area to be almost the perfect place for relaxation. The house is as described and easily accommodated our family. It is isolated from the sound of road traffic and is not disturbed by the motor boats along the bay. The property is on a ocean bay and there is a small private beach with room for chairs and kids. The house is spacious but you will no doubt spend most of the time on the deck or large screened porch. The house easily sleeps eight and the sink in every room definitely has its advantages. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and gas grill also. The beach permit is an added and needed bonus. There were two Cotuit beaches - one you could walk to and the other within a few minutes drive."

  • Great house close to beach.

"We recently stayed at the Captain Rogers house. We were 10 people in total - 4 adults and 6 kids (4 or which were teenagers!) The walk to beach and store were perfect for them. They enjoyed taking one of the 4 bikes at the house and exploring the area. The house itself fit us comfortably and we couldn't get over the beds! It was the first time we renting a house where we didn't dread going to sleep. Most of the house - including bedrooms and bathrooms - has been updated and has everything you need to make this a great beach vacation. This house would be perfect for a big family with multiple generations as there is a wing on the first floor with sitting area, bedroom and bath. Also a great house for people with young child who might have to return to the house from the beach often. The beach in walking distance is very calm and inviting for younger children. Everyone in the area was very nice an helpful with any problems or questions we had. I would recommend this house to anyone looking in the Cotuit area which is a hidden treasure. Beauty beyonds words!"

  • Wonderful and relaxing trip for the whole family

"We absolutely loved staying in this home. We had perfect weather for our entire vacation which allowed us to take full advantage of the pool and the yard. The house itself is beautifully decorated and has plenty of space for anything you could possibly need. We loved making breakfast and in the well-stocked kitchen and grilling lunch out on the deck. The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable, especially the master with the amazing king bed. The owners are VERY easy to work with and respond quickly if you have any question or concern prior to booking, after booking or during your stay. They provide you with all their contact information and are very good people. Just a few things to note, and certainly not anything that would ever keep us from staying here again... First, there wasn't any kind of detergent provided, so if you need to do laundry (and start the towels upon check-out per request), pick up a bottle of detergent for high-efficiency machines while you're out and about during the day. Second, while the master bedroom has a wall unit, there isn't air conditioning anywhere else in the house. There are fans provided (and if I recall, a few extra in closets), but it can get warm and muggy in the evenings during a humid week so you'll want to keep the air flowing and take a dip in the pool or take a cool shower before bed to stay comfortable. Downstairs stays much cooler, so air hockey and a movie at night is a pretty good way to wind down in comfort! One last note, the house has cable TV, but it's very bare bones. That was totally fine with us (no one visits the Cape to watch TV), but if you're someone that likes to unwind with a movie or a favorite show at night, you may want to bring DVDs (some are provided) and/or a Fire TV stick to fill your programming void. I cannot say enough about the furnishings in the home -- every last detail is gorgeous, right down to the bed linens. Whoever decorated has a keen eye for style! The pool is super clean and beautiful; the yard has gorgeous well-maintained landscaping and tons of space for any outdoor activity. We played croquet, tossed a ball around and relaxed in the shade during the day, and enjoyed fireside s'mores and a refreshing swim at night. We definitely made MANY new memories in our stay at the Mahers' home, and we will absolutely return."
