  • Family Wedding at the Wychmere

"Our extended family gathered in Harwich Port for my son's wedding. This house was perfect for a large gathering. We hosted several family dinners with space to seat about 16 or 18. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything imaginable needed for cooking and dining. The home is very spacious, charming and well appointed. With several very comfortable sitting rooms, we could spread out, for quiet conversation or games and reading, yet never feel crowded. Having 5 bathrooms was such a luxury, especially when everyone was getting ready for the wedding at once! One nice advantage to this home's location is the walking distance to the village and beach. The owners are very easy to work with and quick to respond to any inquires. The description and pictures of this house fall short in showing it's spaciousness and charm. It feels like home! We could not have found a more perfect place to stay."

  • Amazing lake home in a special nook of the Cape!

"My husband, dog, and I have stayed in this home for a week every summer for the last 3 years. I grew up on Cape Cod and wanted a place to stay while visiting my family and enjoying a vacation. Before I even get to the house, I can tell you as a (former) local, this location is a hidden gem. Centerville is central to most anywhere you would like to get on the greater Cape, including to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard ferries, as well as to the Hyannis airport (hello direct to NYC Jet Blue flights!). The house comes with a coveted beach pass and is a 5 minute drive from my very favorite secret, pass-requiring beach on Cape Cod, so you have the best of both worlds: a house directly on the lake, plus bike or drive-able beach access. This is a boon for people with dogs or children, or who just want a more quiet, less sandy experience than a beach home can provide. On to the house: the owners do everything to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. The house is clean with plenty of bathroom and beach towels, sheets, tables, chairs, dishes and silverware. There are 4 bedrooms varying in size and the master bedroom has lovely lake views from bed. The porch is jaw-dropping gorgeous. The photos here do not lie. The sun sets over the lake, making for some magnificent nights, and the porch is huge, directly over the lake and with ample seating. The lake water is lovely for swimming, paddle boarding, or kayaking (some of this will require a rental on your part, not hard to come by on the cape). Because the house is located in a protected cove, not only is this area of the lake quieter than others, you are spared motor boats and jet skis blazing by at high speed. The house itself has plenty of room for one family or two small families to enjoy between the outdoor space, large living/dinning room, separate eat-in kitchen, and separate sunken TV room. There is also a huge outside shower, in addition to the 1.5 bathrooms within the house. I cannot say enough nice things about this house and the owners and we hope to come back for many years to come."

  • Super Cozy 18th Century Antique Garret

"My husband & I spent 5 wonderful nights at this property. Upon greeting us, Brenda shared her wealth of knowledge regarding Wellfleet and the surrounding area. The garret has an eclectic style, is maintained beautifully & includes all the needed amenities. There was one small drawback...my husband is tall, over 6' and he had a few challenges because of the slanted roof. However, that did not stop us from fully enjoying our stay. At night, with the windows open, we were blissfully serenaded by local tree frogs and crickets. Wellfleet is home to some of the most delicious oysters anyone could want and we could walk to many local restaurants to enjoy them. Communing with nature is easy here. Access to the bay, ocean, hiking/biking trails, dunes, fresh water ponds & salt marshes allows the visitor endless ways to have small or large adventures. We hope to return to the “garret” in the future & we highly recommend this property to all. Peggi & Rick / South Burlington, VT"
