  • Home away from home

"The Friendship House is a home away from home. Spacious, clean and cozy, with a great kitchen (fully stocked!) for home-cooked meals enjoyed on the deck with an ocean view!! Minutes walk/run to the beach, outdoor shower (my son's favorite and always a treat) and an owner who couldn't be more friendly and helpful- always willing to chat up the best spots (and cupcakes) in town! I am getting home-sick for it as I write. Spent our 3rd vacation this past June and am thinking a week is not enough. Was truly sad to leave :(, but am looking forward to next visit :). A deal and a half :). ~ Connor and Diane"

  • Wonderful Experience

"We just returned from a weeks stay at this property (725856) and our family had a wonderful time. The home owners could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They made the whole process run smoothly and attended to every detail. Their home is perfectly situated in/near the little East Orleans village. This location made it easy for our family to transition between our two favorite beaches, Nauset (for the ocean) and Skaket (for the bay)... not to mention it is only a short bike ride or walk from the best ice cream at Sundae School. The home is a cozy summer retreat nestled on a quiet tree lined lot on a beautiful road that felt private and very safe. Although it might not have all the modern amenities of a brand new home, it certainly makes up for it with rustic charm. The outside shower was fantastic for washing away the sunscreen and sand from a long day on the beach. I would certainly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing summer get away."

  • Great house in Orleans

"This home is clean and has a lot of charm. Having one bathroom was tough for our crew, but for one week on the cape in a house with a great location, it was fine. Although it is on a main road, the house is far back enough from the road that you don't hear cars traveling. The yard is spacious and very suitable for outdoor games. If you are able to fish while on the cape, you can take advantage of the outdoor fish cleaning station! The owner is incredibly responsive and accessible, which was much appreciated when we needed gas for the grill. If you have a small party and want a nice stay on the cape, I would recommend booking with Jennifer."

  • Lovely vacation home on a beautiful property

"The property is in East Orleans, right on the road to Nauset Beach. A 3-minute drive from the center of Orleans, the property is convenient to shopping and all 3 beaches (Nauset, Skaket, and the beach at Pilgrim Lake which is ideal for younger children). Picturesque Rock Harbor (home of the fishing fleet) is a brief 5-minute drive away. My wife and I (and our kids) spent parts of more than 20 summers in this section of Orleans, our favorite town on the Cape. The tall hedge on the Beach Road side of the property provided excellent sound insulation from the traffic.. The comfortably furnished 3-BR 2-Bath 1-story home is situated on a spacious tree-filled lot. The property was clean and well-maintained. The home has Central heating and AC, and is generally well-equipped and appointed. The house has a new Washer and Dryer. There is a new Flat-panel 39" TV in the Living room and an older 27" TV in the master suite. The King bed in the master BR suite was comfortable (the only one we slept on); our adult kids said the queen bed was OK. The outdoor shower would be popular with younger children. We spent a good part of our time on the lovely outside deck, and prepared meals (swordfish on the barbie) on the modern outdoor Weber grill most nights when we ate at home. Dealing with the owner (Lauren Cragen) was a pleasure; her flexibility in making arrangements was much appreciated. When we come back to the Cape (hopefully, in the next year or two), the availability of 43 Beach Road will be one of our first considerations. Only two suggested changes: 1. Include the option of a full linen package (sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc) as part of the basic rental. (If clients want to supply their own, provide a deduction from this price). We would really have appreciated not having to deal with procuring our own linens (that was a hassle). 2. Put a small sign by the break in the hedge (#43) indicating the entrance to the property from Beach Road."
