  • Perfect for families with young children

"We spent two fantastic weeks at Melisa and Ed's lovely house at Dennisport. The house is lovely and you will have everything you need. However, the huge garden is something else and was perfect for our almost two year old daughter, who was in heaven playing all day in the shade of the large pine trees. The house is a few minutes drive from a number of great beaches and picturesque towns and harbours. Melisa and Ed were extremely helpful and welcoming, as was Paul who dropped around to tend to the garden every few days! I would highly recommend Cape Escape to anyone looking for a relaxing break! • Absolutely Incredible

"Simple words cannot express how enjoyable our stay was. I can only echo both Tricia’s and Susan’s reviews. The house was absolutely beautiful. Walk out into the rear yard and enjoy the sand, the sights, and the bay. We were at the cape for a wedding and ended up with a great bunch of memories. We started with watching the sun rise from the waterside lounges in the back yard and ending with an after dinner chat on the rear deck while the sun went down. This house was spacious; there was plenty of room for our whole crew (6 adults and 5 children). There were enough activities for the kids to play inside and outside. The house had 4 full baths which made life very easy for a larger group. The whole house has been recently updated and it was obviously done with great care and pride. We felt like we were at home from the moment we walked in the door. I can understand why Lisa and her family love this spot so much and I cannot send enough thanks to them for sharing this hidden gem."

  • Perfect for a Cape vacation

"We've been staying at Cape rentals for the last three seasons and this property was the best by far. Sometimes it's difficult to tell from pictures and 'words' what the property is like but this one lived up to the billing. It was clean, well appointed with extra's including central air conditioning, excellent appliances, i.e., fridge, washer, dryer, grill, outdoor furniture, plenty of parking, etc. It is, like many properties, about 2 miles from the water but is a straight shot without stressful traffic. It was perfect for two Seniors, 1 son with 2 teenage Grands who came for several days. As you can tell, I would recommend to anyone. We'll be going to England next year so might skip the Cape."

  • Comfortable and quaint historic home!

"What a wonderful stay we had at the Sidney Brooks house! We had some unforeseen circumstances that led us to be without a place to stay on the Cape while on an extended family vacation (six adults, a preschooler, a baby, and a dog!). We couldn't believe our luck that this home was available and we were accommodated so quickly and thoughtfully. Our request was answered within minutes, and we were even able to check in early given our circumstances. When the cable went out briefly and when we accidentally blew a fuse during our stay, the hosts handled it immediately and kindly. The house is a gorgeous historic home located in the lovely Harwich town center, across the street from a wonderful town park with access to the bike trail (and the hosts give access to a shed full of bicycles -- which we thoroughly enjoyed!). Getting to other parts of the Cape is easy, and the house is perfect for relaxing at "home" as well. We cooked, played games, hung out in the hammock and played baseball outside in the spacious yard, and enjoyed lots of family time together in comfort. The rooms are large and furnished with everything you'd need (the kitchen is small but well-stocked, minus a microwave -- understandable with old home wiring!) and the layout is nice. The stairs were a little steep for our young child (he just needed supervision) and the old floorboards had some errant nail heads -- just things to be aware of in an old house. Those are the only tiny flaws I can think of in this wonderful home. We would absolutely stay there again! We were homesick for our "home away from home" when we left!"
