  • Perfect family base for the Cape.

"6 of us stayed here for the last couple of weeks in August. Four adults, two children. The property has two bedrooms (double, bunkbeds in one and three singles in the other) and two bathrooms upstairs, and then a lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom and third double room downstairs. It is a short walk from the pool, perhaps 7 minutes or so, but then again I was doing this with a 3 year old... If you are looking at a map the exact location is here: 41.559364, -70.492952. There is a small outdoor area with seating and a grill, although we didn't use those. You can walk to the beach, and I did a 5k wander to the beach, along it and then back to the house via south cape beach, but otherwise you are driving 5 mins to south cape beach. There is a pass for the beach in the house. It's in a rural area surrounded by other similar homes. Lots of scope to get lost on similar roads. We found a sat nav essential for the first couple of days. The house itself was immaculate, all the facilities you could want, including a decent tv, kitchen stuff and wifi. There wasn't anything that we thought 'if only we had...'. Another reviewer posted about the lack of a tv upstairs but this wasn't a problem for us with the kids' obsession with iPads. The downstairs tv is fairly modern so will take usb drive if you've also got a drive loaded with your kids' favourite shows... There is good air con downstairs, although it takes a little time to get upstairs. Turn on the hallway fan to better cool the upstairs. The weather while were were there was cracking, around top 20s/30oC. The pool was clean, rarely used by others and warm. The kids loved it. There was a pass to the local beach which we went to a couple of times, but we tended to tour. Craigsville beach was number two in my view to Old Silver which was magnificent. Certainly the softest sand we found. Mashie commons is just up the road with a good selection of restaurants, shops and a cinema. We really rated the Oak and Ember. The cinema was ok, but I preferred the one a little further out (heritage theatres, sandwich) as there was a bit more leg room. This is a good location for stuff, but note that this is the cape so the roads are right out of Supernatural and the speed limits are some sort of experiment in surreal randomness. It takes a while to get anywhere. Mashie commons is about 10 minutes out. Falmouth and Hyannis (where the bigger mall is) about 30 odd mins, depending on traffic. to be cont...."

  • Fabulous family accommodation

"We have recently returned from a fabulous week at this lovely property. It is spacious, nicely decorated and well furnished. The pool was lovely and warm and we were lucky to have some wonderful weather. Beach towels were provided which was a real bonus. The owner was very helpful both before, during and after our stay (kindly posting us a few items we left behind). New Seabury is a beautiful area, the houses around us were well maintained and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. It is 20 mins from Falmouth, we enjoyed a couple of trips there and loved it. The drive to Boston is about 1.5 hours and very easy. It is the perfect property for a family holiday, 5 of us stayed, myself, husband, two boys and my mum (who stayed in the 'den' and found this very comfortable). We would love to visit again and explore more of New England, it's a beautiful area."

  • Perfect Family Retreat

"We LOVED our stay at this home! We stayed for one week, and our children couldn't get enough of the beautiful and clean private beach. The owner thoughtfully provided everything we could possibly need for a beach vacation. The house was clean and comfortable. The outdoor shower is the perfect way to end a day at the beach. I can't wait to come back next year!"

  • Relaxation

"Selfishly I almost don't want to write a review here... the house was so good I want it to be available when I go to rent again... so that about says it all. I kept my 23 foot boat on the dock, It's a slightly tight fit at that length, I recommend you be comfortable docking... the dock we had fun and caught blue crabs for dinner most nights. We used the kayaks, paddleboard and the raft. The beach is an easy paddle, or we used the boat too. The house is immaculate and bigger then it looks. I will say with earnest. I lead a very busy life, and the week spent here was the most relaxed I've been in years. Thank you Anne."
