"I just returned from a week at this lovely house. As the photos show, it and its location and view are spectacular. It was amazingly peaceful and beautiful - the wind in the pines, the view of the marsh as the tide changed, the flocks of swallows at dusk ...My old dog and I walked down the path behind the house or the road to the lovely bay beach at least once a day (and drove elsewhere to explore other lovely places nearby). The path itself was lovely and at the beach, there were tidal pools and sandbars and serious clammers, and the water was warm enough to walk barefoot in.
I knew from the photos (and having seen the house in person last spring) that the house was gorgeous but did not then know of the care, attention and anticipation of guests' needs that the owners give. The house was fully stocked with anything you might need, including several thoughtful additions like a small stereo, tons of beach toys/chairs, appliances and utensils and kitchenware (all high end/quality), spices (including my favorite Saigon Cinnamon for adding to coffee), a bucket for washing your sandy feet before entering the house, a book on local/similar houses in the area and their amazing architects, etc. It was chilly weather, as expected during a mostly cloudy late September week, but small space heaters were provided and were helpful. The rental price was an incredible value; the house, like a home (an extra nice one); and one of the owners was immediately responsive anytime I had a question (beginning last May when I first saw the house listing.
I did not need/use the lower level but it was much nicer than I expected (for any lower level and given some other comments about the humidity), and I would certainly stay down there if I had guests (like children or older folks) for whom it would be better to stay on the main level.
I'd return to this house in a heartbeat and very much hope I can and do."
