  • Great Location

"The house was perfect for us (2 adults, two children)- very clean and comfortable, enclosed back yard (we may bring the dogs next time!), all the amenities you'd need and of course the outdoor shower was fabulous. Walking distance to Orleans but still nice and quiet. Only 1.5 miles for our favorite beach at Skaket. Would definitely recommend this property."

  • This house is Fabulous!

"I've been renting on the Cape on and off for the last 55 years. That's a lot of houses. This house is unquestionably the most comfortable, the most completely furnished, the most beautifully decorated and the one we would most like to return to. The house looks exactly like the photos. You could fit 3 King beds into the master bedroom. There is a walk-in closet large enough for a season's clothes. The bathroom has a jet tub in addition to a large shower. The upper floor has, in addition to the 2 twin bedrooms and baths, a sitting area and TV. We used it as a snug sleeping area for our 4 year old grandchild. There is enough space that people need not be on top of one another. Dining room, kitchen, study, family room, sun-room, deck and basement. You want to be alone? You can do that. You want to have a party for 2 dozen? There is sufficient tableware, cookware and glassware to do so. The house is located in a corner of Brewster that is adjacent to West Harwich and Chatham. The bike trail has an entrance nearby. There are ponds, lakes, ocean beaches all within a short drive. Our grandchildren played ping-pong in the basement and croquet in the back yard. They played whiffle-ball in front. They could ride their bikes in the driveway and on the quiet street. I've enjoyed sunsets in Tahiti, over the Grand Canyon, and on the roof of the Del Coronado, but one of the most peaceful was on the deck of this house. Go and enjoy."

  • The view is spectacular from quaint Square Top cottage

"It's all about the view. There are huge windows and sliding doors leading to a wrap-around deck, that all face Pleasant Bay. I knew the sunrises would be beautiful, and we are early risers so we loved the view from the east-facing large bedroom on the 2nd floor. What surprised me was that sunsets were gorgeous too. A second upstairs bedroom also faces the bay. The other 2 bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) face the road and also overlook a cranberry bog. There is a fair amount of road traffic noise, but when you are in the rooms facing the water you don't notice it. We were there off-season so we didn't have access to the sailboats. However, we did use their kayaks and life preservers, which were in great shape. I had a few small complaints when I first arrived but by the end of the week they all dissipated because of the spectacular views, which is why I am giving this 5 stars. I want to add a few points for people who are looking for a "luxury" type vacation rental. There is only one shower downstairs which is a small plastic shower stall. The upstairs bathroom is big and has a bathtub but not a shower. To reach the washer and dryer, you have to go outside and down some stairs to a basement and the machines are old. The screens leading to the decks had many rips and tears. This is run by a not-for-profit and we were dealing with 3 or 4 different people...all of whom were very nice but sometimes messages got crossed. To end on a positive note, the kitchen is very well equipped and we would definitely return. I think a family with kids interested in sailing would love this place in the summertime."

  • Stunning home in Orleans!!

"Absolutely the best location in Orleans! House was clean and spacious. We were 4 adults 4 teenagers and 3 young children. We fit beautifully. We brought a portable fire pit and enjoyed a fire on the beach at sunset. We had dinner on the deck enjoying amazing sunsets. We biked on the bike path to Coast guard beach. Paddleboarded at Skaket and all used floats, so relaxing. Body surfed at Nauset and enjoyed Liam's for dinner right at the beach. Crystal Lake is a short drive away and in the afternoon is a great find for floats and paddle boards as well. Every morning we walked a 2 mile loop along the beach and back. Definitely use the sandy path out to the beach! (There is a map in blue book) We still found time for a night at the drive in down in Wellfleet! As well as a day in Ptown where some of the older kids were able to catch a ferry back home.. This property was hands down THE BEST PROPERTY we have stayed at. Bike path access, ocean and bay beaches, lakes, supermarket and coffee shop all within 5 minutes of house. Clearly we didn't want to ever leave!!! Hope you enjoy as much as we did!!! PS USE THE OUTDOOR SHOWER!!! Vacation is not complete without it!!"
