  • Wonderful location and plenty of room!

"At the last minute we were trying to plan an escape with the whole family after graduations and before starting jobs. What a lucky find this house was. The location is fantastic on a side street next to the Daniel Webster Inn directly across from the library and walkable to the Shawnee Pond, Dunbar Tea House, Brown Jug, Beth's Bakery, and a few cute shops on Jarvis Street. Sandwich has so much to offer and this home itself was a serene retreat due to the babbling brook in the backyard and sweeping lawn and perennial gardens. Lots of birds including an egret that briefly landed in a tree by the brook as if on schedule. The kitchen is bright and sunny and well outfitted. The linens and towels are plenty as are many books and movies in the event of a rainy day. My husband actually put the kayak in the brook and paddled out to the Boardwalk although on the way back due to high tide he had to exit before the underpass on River Rd. Great House! Great Location!"

  • Good stay, need some maintenance

"We had an overall great time at this cituit escape. House is large, plenty of things to do indoors, beautiful yard and lake, access to kayaks and canoe. Great! We had a couple of issues though, some not avoidable by the owner, Roxana. One of these was that the how water did not work on evening, and we all had to go to bed without showering... Not something you want to deal with on a cape cod vacation. The owner seemed to be doing what she could to fix the problem though and had the plumber come the very next morning to solve the issue. I appreciated her effort, but it did dampen our stay a little. The only issues I noticed were that some household items needed maintenance. One side of the crib in the children's room was not attached, one of the bed's bottom frame rails (children's) kept coming off when we sat on the bed, tv channels were not very available, dishwasher was not snugly put into the wall. All of these I feel that the owner could fix easily. I would definitely rent again if the owner made sure that things were in better shape next time. Overall, fun times and great memories. House just needs a little more care."

  • Jeff and the pups

"I had the honor of renting "Sweet Sixteen" over the entire winter. One would think that staying at a beach house over a cape cod winter would not be very enjoyable, but I had a blast. This home has a great vibe to it, the living room is situated in such a manner as the fireplace is front and center and with plenty of gather around room, the walls are covered in very tasteful paneling and great aquatic art work. I love that there are windows all around! The house is situated on the beach but also affords incredible views of the marsh, the marsh also is an inlet from the bay and is great for launching kayaks. There is a deck right on a berm overlooking the beach and all of Cape Cod bay, you can even see the Pilgrim monument in P-town and the cape as it winds around the bay. As one winds down the bumpy dirt road further and further down a path, you suddenly pop out in a sunny row of beach houses-how relaxing is that!? You feel as if you are far from everything but are actually just minutes from Sandwich and back over the bridge... Great place, great location, Eileen and Wally are just really good people! Can"t wait to go back! Jeff"

  • Lovely comfortable house at the beach

"The house is what you see on the pics and even more. The kitchen was very well equipped. Lots of gadgets like an icecream machine, nutri bullet, blenders...you name it. This was great for us as we love to cook when on vacation and have seen kitchens in rentals which were by far not as well equipped as this one. Also there were spices and other staples already there for you to use. So before you do the grocery haul at the beginning of your vacation, check the shelves for what is already there. The house was spotless clean, fresh flowers (what a nice touch!!), lots of linens and towels, even beach towels which was nice for us as we arrived by plane. Susan welcomed us and was always available and very helpful during our stay. She was a lovely host!! We spent two weeks in this house and had a lovely time. We can highly recommend using the canoe that belongs to the house (including life jackets) to explore the shore and marshland. There's mini golf and several ice cream places nearby, also supermarkets, dry cleaners etc. in ten mins driving distance. If you are looking for a comfortable place to spend a relaxed beach vacation with your family, this is the place to go!!"
