  • A very beautiful house and grounds that looked and felt very welcoming.

"Eight members of my family and my toddler grandson stayed in the house for three nights. I loved the feel of the house. (I assume that the owners live there a part of the year). It did not feel like a rental. The artwork and other visual items felt warm and welcoming. I know I am using lots of adjectives and very little specifics, but, for me, this house is simply beyond describing. More accurately, I loved the blend of carefully chosen artwork and very homey furniture. The house has a wonderfully unassuming feel to it; yet it felt like the owners put a lot of thought into the furniture, etc. The owners very generously made a very substantial collection of great children's books and toys available which my grandson enjoyed. Less than 100 meters down the street is a very beautiful tidal area, where we introduced our little toddler to his first fiddler crabs. My sister-in-law loved her morning runs in the area. The owners (Steve and Ricki) were attentive and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend the house."

  • Clean, cheerful, well appointed house - perfect for families

"We had a great week here as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). Efficient layout that makes the house feel more spacious and private than others we have rented with similar sq footage. House is exceedingly clean and cheerful with a nice deck on back overlooking a piney hollow (very quiet). The kids made good use of the newly renovated basement (which made rest of the house quieter!) We would definitely stay here again."

  • Spectacular views at Windswept

"Our one week stay at Windswept was awesome! The owner really takes pride in providing all that is needed for a perfect vacation. The pictures do not do it justice! From the gas grill, to the gas stove, flat screen TVs, super modern microwave, and oven, to the small things like poison ivy remedy, (which my Dad got while golfing) there was nothing but food and drinks that we needed to bring. I looked for countless hours to find the perfect home for all my family's needs and I found one. I needed an exceptionally clean, and mold/mildew free place for one of my guests due to allergies/asthma. Also enough bathrooms to accommodate all of the guests. The house was exceptionally clean, and the easy to use AC on both floors helped a great deal with the 95 degree muggy weather day we had on our week! It was also a great location for all of our day trips, from Provincetown to Sandwich. All of my guests, as was I, pleasantly surprised of the all extras that were included to make our vacation special. On top of having a fully equipped house from beach towels, to umbrellas, to any kind of spice, cooking pans, glasses, plates, blenders, you need, nothing compared to having such a spectacular view at any time of day, but especially sunset. I recommend this house to anyone who is interested in a quiet, worry free vacation."

  • Perfect house for a big group!

"I am writing this review as I found the reviews when researching Wellfleet options myself very helpful. Though- worth pointing out, a good friend who owns a house in Wellfleet also highly recommended this house based on the location and the beach. And they were all spot-on regarding this place. We had three families live comfortably here for a week! Amazing yard, deck and screened in porch. The nearly private beach is beautiful and is an easy 2-3 minute walk over sand to get there. Just as described in all of the other reviews. As for the location, it is isolated- in a good way. Town is a short and easy drive but you are really out there by yourselves. We went to town for dinner one night, took the kids to their first Drive-In movie, played mini-golf etc. but mostly we hung in the yard or house when we weren't at the beach, which is where we spent much of our time. The house layouts well and with a little creativity and an air mattress- suited the needs of three families w/ young kids just fine. It is definitely not fancy- but extremely quaint and comfortable. It is lived-in with an eclectic array of comfy couches and antique furniture, which having several kids made it perfect. The long hallway filled with an amazing collection of books and old magazines was a treat! I for one got lost in a few National Geographics from another era! The kitchen too served us well- which was key as we had most of our meals at the house. There were a couple of "cooks" who found everything they needed. Well-stocked for sure! There were also plenty of tables and chairs (indoor and out) to accommodate our larger group. Bottom line- if you are a group or large family looking for a comfortable place on the beach- that is a little off the beaten path- but close enough to everything...look no more. This place is perfect and definitely worth every penny! Kevin"
