  • Destination Vacation!

"We weren't able to rebook our summer vacation at the home we stayed in Chatham in May, so decided to venture to Wellfleet. Stumbled upon this dream home on Lt Island. Never knew about Lt Island and how unique and beautiful it is! Kitchen is a dream and well stocked. Plenty of space for the 5 of us and SUPER CLEAN!"

  • Amazing Family Friendly Week on the Cape

"We have just returned from a magical week at the Ryder Pond home. We were two families of four (so four adults and four children in total), and the kids loved the house, the surrounding property, the outdoor picnic area, showering outdoors every evening, and most of all swimming in the pristine pond. (Two of our kiddos are just learning to swim, and there is a shallow sandy area that was perfect for them, while the older kids could jump off the dock and splash around.) The house is a charming, historic structure (there are 18th-century deeds in the house), and the entire vacation felt like traveling to another era. We strongly recommend to other families--it worked well for our large group. The kitchen is small (as others have noted), but perfectly usable, and we grilled outdoors every evening in any case. The owners are very helpful and accessible. A gem!"

  • The Joy in the Details

"The cottage was well furnished to accommodate 5 kids (1.5, 4, 5, 11, 15) and 5 adults. The description is right about the bayside home was done with the guest in mind. The amenities alone are worth staying here above other vacation homes – having access to beach towels, beach umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs etc. is one less thing to think about. The cottage offered plenty for everyone to do without having to revert to watching television or sitting on smartphones/ computers. The energetic inquisitive developing minds took daily walks to the nearby Fox Marsh where they had an endless experience with the sights and sound of the Marsh especially the fiddle crabs arousing various reactions to the friendly and kind people walking their dogs. Others took to playing hide and seek in the yard while others played a game of Jumbo ball – think Wiffle ball just with a jumbo bat and bigger ball. The location of the cottage made outings to Mayo beach and Marconi Beach effortless. The layout of the house allowed for moments of serenity where one could sit with a book or enjoy the silence of the great outdoors and comradery where everyone could come together to play a game or hang out. Of the places we have stayed as a family this has been the most relaxing and feel good Cape Cod vacation home. At the end of the day being out and about it was assuring to come back and recharge at the cottage. While we experienced a thunder and lightning storm the night before we left and had a shock of the fire alarm going off around 11 after the house was quiet it still does not take away from the lovely time we had at the cottage."
