  • Wonderful Vacation

"We had a wonderful vacation on the Cape and we were sad to leave. Your home is beautiful and you really supplied us with so many things to make our trip easier. My son loved being carted to the beach each day in his own personal wagon! We were lucky to have beautiful weather and it was HOT! The only thing we wished we had was a fan in the family room. Sleeping was very comfortable with the window AC units but at night we enjoyed spending time in the back family room and towards the end of the week when the humidity was high, we wished we had a fan to circulate the air. Other than that, we really had everything we needed. I especially liked the little things, like the garbage coming twice a week."

  • Old family home that generally still caters well

"More roomy than it seemed from the description and despite only two showers for 9 adults/4 kids we got by alright. An old and creaky building, the kitchen and shower rooms are new and there are large grounds that were shady and great for the kids - as was the games room/garage (though the floor there is dangerously uneven). The worst thing for us was the complete absence of any guide material either how to work the house's facilities or what was in the area. We traipsed round four different places before finding a reasonably comprehensive supermarket (Star Market). Also I had to spend the first stupendously hot night in an armchair downstairs because in the gloomy light of the master bedroom we didn't notice that the main controls for the air-con were hidden under a sliding sleeve! Instructions for foreign (we are all Brits) users should be a basic courtesy. However, I don't suppose anyone could have stopped the unnecessarily complex fridge from going into spells of beeping. Better towels are a must for the future and more of them - but Steve replied positively when we complained of the shortage. There are two good, simple beaches within 10 mins or so walk and others on the North coast with lovely flat low tide areas. We had a great time canoeing from the Irish pub at the end of the road (!) and 16m of the cycle track on the well-shaded old railway was enjoyed by everyone from 7 to 71yrs! We rented from Dennis Cycles and had a great lunch stop at Guapo's in Brewster. Provincetown was an easy drive and worthwhile visit as was Chatham. The area has plenty on offer without any nasty artificial 'attractions' like disneylands. The Lighthouse café on Route 28 was easy-going for breakfast but their heavy pancakes aren't recommended. West on Lower County Road Chapin's Fish & Chips offers a nice environment indoors or out and a wide range of food and Swan River just by it gave us a superb evening out. But beware, restaurants close as early as 9pm. British (let alone Spanish) times don't operate here! Overall 56 Riverside is recommended for large groups and will be even better with a little more attention to guests' needs."

  • Clean, Comfortable and Quiet

"What a beautiful home! We truly enjoyed our Cape Cod vacation and this home was a huge part of it. The first impression of the home was memorable. Clean, well appointed and stocked with everything we needed for a week on the Cape. Bedroom air conditioners made for a comfortable night's sleep, and the open living/dining/kitchen area offered a relaxing living space. The beach was a quick 10 minute walk, and the Cape Code Rail Trail was a quick 10 minute ride away. Also, my complements to New England Vacation Rentals for outstanding communication and customer service!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Home!

"This was our second time staying in this great home, and we loved it even more this time. The kitchen has been remodeled with beautiful appliances and countertops, and is stocked with everything you need. The second bathroom has been updated and enlarged and now has a huge rain shower. One of the nicest rooms in the house is the remodeled sunroom with its large sliders, comfortable couches, and flatscreen TV. This room is bright and airy, and a great place to relax with the entire family. It leads out to the patio which is another great spot to relax, cook out, or just sit around the fire pit. The owners are so considerate and easy to work with, they really make you feel at home in their home! This is a terrific vacation rental and we are already looking forward to returning next summer. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable Cape vacation."
