  • Family Christmas vacation

"We just spent almost 2 weeks at this house and we had a wonderful time. This house is very spacious, clean and well maintained. There is everything you need to stay and cook for the family even when you are snowed in. Our little girls were excited seeing cows next to the house and there was plenty of room to run around. Carolyn was always happy to help and even showed our girls their newborn calf. We can highly recommend this house for your getaway. Thank you for everything, we'll be back again!"

  • Starry. starry night

"This cozy home in the woods is a delightful getaway for nature lovers. A meandering river, birds, and thousands of stars in the night sky await you. There's a working fireplace inside and plenty of movies. Suitable for families and romantic couples alike. The nearby town, while not large, was charming and had some interesting dining options. The details: Listing was accurate, property well-maintained, good customer service, I'd recommend to others."

  • Peaceful country retreat

"Our group of 7 adults and one 5-year-old traveled to Williamsburg in late September to attend a family wedding in Amherst. Flower Hill Farm, about a half-hour drive from the event, was a peaceful and quiet (no TV, good wifi) alternative to staying in a downtown hotel. We reserved the whole house for three nights, which gave us the use of the dining room as well as access for all to the upstairs balcony. Though we were too early for fall foliage, the grounds were still delightful to explore. The owner, an artist and photographer whose works and collected objects enrich the house, was out of town but provided detailed instructions (including soft shoes in the house and vegetarian cooking only, to preserve the ecological retreat atmosphere) and kept in touch to be sure we were comfortable. Taking advantage of local information left for us, we stocked up on maple syrup at Paul's Sugar House (they ship), ate a tasty breakfast at Bread Euphoria, and enjoyed a walk at a nearby Audubon sanctuary. The beds were comfortable, and the couple who stayed in the studio loved the clawfoot tub."

  • Couldn't have been better!

"We rented this home for my daughter's graduation from Amherst College. It was perfect for our extended family and the wonderful deck and yard was used for a fun cook-out. My 89 year old mother had her tea each morning in the inviting screened in porch and we all loved gathering and cooking in the good sized kitchen. After looking at crazy hotel prices, the home was actually more affordable for our 3 night stay. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms; my husband and I particularly liked the dormer bedroom and bath. I have already recommended this house for future Amherst graduating families."
