  • Clean, well kept, spacious, lovely setting

"We had a wonderful time in this interesting, a-bit-funky house in a converted barn. Rooms were clean and with no amenity missing. (a colder place had a space heater, to compensate.) We were three older couples visiting family, and had a terrific time. Beds were great--and even the waterbed was comfortable, if only one person slept there. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for a crowd, the social space was quite large (easily accommodating 13 people sitting at dinner, and breakfast). Eclectic artworks abound, making for an appealing visual setting. the wood-burning stove provided great heat and was easy to use, with plenty of wood to stoke it with. the property abuts the river, and so there was a wonderful scenic walk along the bank for quite a distance. Owners were easily available, friendly and supportive--though there were no problems for which to call them. We will likely be back when in the area."

  • Great VT Home

"We rented this property for a girls weekend getaway and had a wonderful time! The living space was set up perfectly for our group of eight. We spent plenty of time chatting and lounging on the couch by the fireplace and playing board games at the big dining table. The hot tub was perfect and very easy to use - it was definitely a treat sitting in the hot tub while it lightly snowed one of the nights we stayed. Another night we drove to the nearby Honora Winery for some cheese and wine tasting. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, the Aga Stove took some getting use to. The only thing that would have been helpful for our stay would have been having some sand/salt on hand for the icy driveway and walkway to the hot tub steps. One note for future renters: If you're able to negotiate an early check-in, please be sure that the local property caretaker - Butch - is aware that you'll be arriving early. Unfortunately, this didn't happen for us, so when we entered the home, the security alarms went off. Everything worked out in the end, but was a hassle that could have been easily avoided."

  • Best canine friendly lodging!

"The cottage is a perfect getaway, no matter the season. The cottage comes equipped with cooking materials, lots of blankets, games, and just about anything you could need. Situated on a quiet country lane, peace and relaxation is easy to achieve. Most importantly, however, is the welcoming our corgi received from Pat the owner. She loves dogs and the lodging definitely caters to your canine best friend. We had such a great time, we plan to go back in the summer and take advantage of summer activities in the area."

  • Perfect Spot

"We had an amazing stay at this house. It is in the perfect location between Berkshire East and Shelburne Falls. The house is beautiful inside and suited our 2 families perfectly. Everything was clean and Cheryl the caretaker was always available and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!"
