  • Best Kept Secret

"My husband and I have stayed in many places, but this cottage holds a unique charm. Located on a quiet sandy road, the cottage offers spectacular views of Lake Tashmoo and breathtaking sunsets over the Sound from a breezy outside deck. Antique furnishings, a vast and varied book collection, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor shower, WIFI and cable added to our comforts. We enjoyed convenient access, by car or bicycle, to MV beaches, shopping, dinning and entertainment as well as the option to retreat to the peace and quiet of the private woods, beaches, lake and marsh surrounding the property. This cottage is an excellent choice for those looking for safe, private accommodations, off the beaten track, with a touch of class and the possibility for communing with nature."

  • A Little Piece of Heaven!

"My husband and I rented this property, along with a similar property owned by the same family, for our friends coming from out of town for our wedding at the Allen Farm. The owner was incredibly accommodating with travel arrangements and we walked in to fresh cut flowers from the garden and a box of Chilmark Chocolates to set the tone for a wonderful week in a secluded paradise. Friends spent evenings snuggling by the fire, we drank wine and told stories on the beautiful patio outside the master bedroom, and walked around the gorgeous grounds overlooking Squibnocket Pond. This is a house where you seem to gasp each time you look out the window. Tons of charm, all the comforts you could want, and a very responsive owner. Highly recommend this property to those who want a true up island experience."

  • Four Perfect Vineyard weeks

"We vacationed on the Vineyard for over 20 years. After selling our island home last year, we missed it terribly. I contacted Monica initially because I read that pets were "possible" and also because we love West Tisbury. I am so glad that we did. The home is magical. Since she uses it herself, the difference from an ordinary rental home is obvious. Lots of extra touches like Emeril, Le Creuset and Calphalon cookware. My husband and I love to cook and we had fun watching the food channel (in view in the living room from the kitchen prep counter) and trying new recipes. The counter is a large butcher block prep area that doubles as a breakfast bar. Monica even left her food processor for us to use. So many pretty little touches like Toile valences and bedcovers, down quilts, Ralph Lauren sheets and towels, lavender hand soap in the bathrooms. Things were not cheap or chintzy and we appreciated that very much. Since being on the Vineyard so many years, we share a concern for the local environment and also appreciated her leaving ecofriendly dish and laundry detergents in the house. We practically didn't have to bring anything. The outdoor furniture was as beautiful as the indoor furniture. Teak chaises, a love seat with comfortable cushions. Simple extras like that made us feel really at home. One of my absolute favorite rooms was the "sunroom." On rainy days, we would sit on the couch reading, looking out at the woods and gardens, listening to the rain. The room was so cozy and quiet, we felt like we were miles away from everything. Unlike further up-island, the shops are only 5-10 minutes away by car. The house feels really spacious and was easier for my husband since there are no stairs. I was worried when my adult children and grandchildren visited for a long weekend that we would feel crowded or bothered by the noise. We weren't at all. The floor plan seemed to work well for everyone. My grandchildren brought their bikes and loved the bike paths nearby that cross the island. We had one problem with the washing machine. I think my grandchildren overstuffed it or used to much soap. I called Monica and Roy came to fix it that afternoon. (We already knew Roy. He's terrific.) An added plus: Despite her hesitation, Monica allowed us to bring our golden, Benny, with us. Everyday, we took long walks along the country road and Lambert's Cove and visited the Scottish Bakehouse. We had such a relaxing time, we booked the month again for next year."

  • An ideal house for a large gathering!

"This house is phenomenal and the owners are so easy to work with! Thirteen of us stayed in this spacious and well-appointed house for three nights in May. We did not want to leave! With plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, there is room for everyone to live comfortably. The house is well stocked with all of the necessities and the bathrooms and kitchen are very clean and up to date. We loved having dinners and breakfasts around the large dining table. I highly recommend calling Net Result for a seafood dinner - they'll do the cooking and you just pick it up! The Vineyard Haven location can't be beat. While outside the hustle and bustle of Main St, it is close enough to talk to the ferry and to the Waterside Market, which is great for breakfast or lunch. We loved having the amenities of town at our fingertips, without the noise. Staying in this lovely home is a treat!"
