  • A Whole Summer Stay on Music Street

"This vintage farm house is thoughtfully decorated, well equipped and superbly located in the West Tisbury village. My family lived on the house length screened porch, leaving to walk around the corner for quick meal at 7A, groceries at Alley's General Store and to cross the street for the Farmer's Market. The outdoor shower is sublime and has a seemingly endless supply of hot water. WiFi is remarkably dependable. We entertained guests and family members throughout the summer and the house affords both privacy and wonderful spots to congregate. With the well equipped kitchen and gas grill, we had lovely dinners on a candle lit porch. Bob conscientiously looks after the property and his guests ensuring all was in order and we wanted for nothing. This was our third summer staying at this home and the first that we were there for a full summer. I hesitate to recommend this house only because I want my preferred weeks for the coming summer. • Chickadee is Perfect!

"If you're looking for the perfect place for your first stay on island or for a return visit for someone who's more islander than washashore; Chickadee cottage is a must! .5mi from Vineyard Haven ferry, directly on the bus and bike routes, you can easily get to town or up island from the cottage without a car. The location is ideal. I brought my car but didn't drive it when going to Net Results or Art Cliff Diner. The owners are fantastic! They thought of everything and had it in the cottage. I forgot my glasses and they even provided me with a magnifying glass (readers are too strong)! My only hesitation in recommending the birdhouses is that this best kept secret on island will get out and will be booked for my next rental. You won't go wrong staying in either of the birdhouse cottages!"

  • Perfect Location, Comfortable Home

"This is the fourth house we've rented on Martha's Vineyard (always Edgartown) and the best one so far. It is in the perfect location - just a few blocks from the shops, art galleries and restaurants of Edgartown but tucked away on a very quiet side street. You don't even need a car or bike because everything is so close (including the bus stop) but there is a place to park 2-3 cars. The house itself is spacious, bright, well-stocked, and nicely decorated, with loads of books everywhere. We were six people and the three main house bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were more than adequate for our needs. The bedrooms were a good size, reading nooks were present in the upper two bedrooms, and the beds themselves were quite comfortable. There was also a living room and a separate family room so we were able to spread out. The family room was bright and airy and had games and puzzles to keep the kids occupied. We also had everything we needed in the kitchen and laundry area and very much appreciated that there were beach towels and beach chairs to use. There is a pleasant back/side yard as well, which could be made more useable with a slightly different outdoor furniture configuration. The owner was also excellent to work with - responsive and helpful, reminding us of key dates like car ferry reservations and local events. I would strongly recommend this home, particularly based upon our experience of having rented three other houses within blocks of this one."
