  • The perfect place!

"This is a stunning and graceful retreat thoughtfully designed so that nothing is wanting. Our family has stayed at this lovely home during the past two summers--and hope to return again and again. Whether with a small group in the main house or with additional friends or family in the guest house (also beautifully done), the configuration works well to relax comfortably. The house is designed to allow for natural light, is open and airy, and is furnished very tastefully. Everything you might need is provided - for cooking, the beach, a bike ride around the nature preserve right out back, or for a relaxing time outside on the deck or backyard hammock. The house is conveniently located close to the beach at Lambert's Cove, Cronig's Market, the Scottish Bakehouse and the towns of West Tisbury, Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgar Town. The owners of the house are terrific and their house is outstanding!"

  • Great stay in MV!

"Our family had a wonderful week on the Vineyard. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was great and it was a short car ride to South Beach or into Edgartown. We enjoyed biking to Morning Glory Farm which is very close, and through Katama around the beach area. The outdoor shower was fantastic after a beach day, a well as to hang on the porch. Jackie was fabulous to work with and very flexible and accomodating to what our family needed. Great place to stay!"

  • Perfect Location, Comfortable Home

"This is the fourth house we've rented on Martha's Vineyard (always Edgartown) and the best one so far. It is in the perfect location - just a few blocks from the shops, art galleries and restaurants of Edgartown but tucked away on a very quiet side street. You don't even need a car or bike because everything is so close (including the bus stop) but there is a place to park 2-3 cars. The house itself is spacious, bright, well-stocked, and nicely decorated, with loads of books everywhere. We were six people and the three main house bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were more than adequate for our needs. The bedrooms were a good size, reading nooks were present in the upper two bedrooms, and the beds themselves were quite comfortable. There was also a living room and a separate family room so we were able to spread out. The family room was bright and airy and had games and puzzles to keep the kids occupied. We also had everything we needed in the kitchen and laundry area and very much appreciated that there were beach towels and beach chairs to use. There is a pleasant back/side yard as well, which could be made more useable with a slightly different outdoor furniture configuration. The owner was also excellent to work with - responsive and helpful, reminding us of key dates like car ferry reservations and local events. I would strongly recommend this home, particularly based upon our experience of having rented three other houses within blocks of this one."

  • Peaceful Retreat in the Woods

"We stayed at this house in mid-August and had a wonderful time. The house itself is located down a dirt road on a very secluded and private lot - you can see no other houses once you are on the property. Each day from the wrap around deck we saw bunnies, birds, butterflies, and even a mother deer and her baby fawn! The house itself is not "fancy", but is cool/retro (it's a deck house from the '70s/'80s) and was immaculately clean when we arrived. 3 of the 4 four bedrooms are downstairs on a different level. Several of the downstairs bedrooms are a bit small but serve the purpose of providing a place to sleep. The week we were there was very hot but there was plenty of fans to help keep us cool at night. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Chilmark General Store and Lucy Vincent Beach. Also, the outdoor shower was a bonus and there are beautiful walking trails from the house. Overall I would recommend this house for nature lovers and people looking for a simple and relaxed space to get away from it all. We particularly appreciated the privacy. We would love to come back and think it would be beautiful and interesting in just about any time of year. Lastly, the property owner Suzanne was very accommodating and easy to work with. Thanks again for sharing your home!"
