  • Very clean

"Very clean, adorable cottage. Nice location, about a mile outside of town. Owner Debra is next door and very accommodating and helpful. We had 6 adults so it was a bit tight with the bed sizes, but a great stay all in all."

  • loved it!

"This house was impeccably clean, well kept, tastefully and simply furnished and decorated (including some charming wall art by very young and creative artists!) , located about one mile outside of the center of Vineyard Haven on a quiet street a couple blocks away from the shore. The owners thoughtfully provided so many nice touches (e.g. plenty of cheerful kid friendly plastic ware that seemed new, a good selection of spices in the kitchen, a basic first aid kit, dryer balls for the dryer, a fine array of toys, games and books for all ages, even arts and crafts supplies), and avoided that "touristy" feel of some rentals - the feel was that of staying at the beloved home of a friend who thinks of everything. The compact kitchen was well equipped with good quality tools and cookware. The back yard is large, grassy and private feeling. We shared the house with two adults and one three year old and felt we had plenty of space. We were without a car and so appreciated that linens and nice beach towels were included. Our one minor suggestion to the owners would be to add thermal/sun-blocking window shades for the upstairs bedrooms, which got hot during the day (although our week was uncharacteristically hot and still) - but the plentiful fans helped at night. The owners were responsive and super easy to work with. An excellent experience all the way around."

  • Charming hideaway

"Love this charming retreat - perfect place to relax in peace and quiet yet with all the amenities. The dual sunset over Lake Tashmoo and Vineyard Sound was captivating - took amazing photos of sunsets and the flowers/fauna. This cottage is warm and welcoming and you immediately feel at home. Very comfortable, not stuffy or formal. Loved browsing the books - shelves of selections for every age, the outdoor shower was fun (there's an indoor shower for the less adventurous), and it has every amenity you could wish for. Nice walk down the country road to the jetty and beach, and nearby nature conservancy on the sound. And you can swim or boat in the lake or in the sound. Or clam, or fish, or fly a kite... Not far from Vineyard Haven - just a bike ride, short drive or vigorous walk. A lovely little sanctuary from the world's hustle and bustle. Can't wait to return to recharge."

  • The best family home on the Vineyard!

"Wow, you have found the best family home on Martha's Vineyard! We vacationed for 2 weeks (July 3-15, 2016) at this fabulous, 5 bedroom, harborview home. We travel as a family of 6-10 (parents, 2 teens, 2 tweens) and include grandparents, so a property that serves multi-generations is key. The 1st floor bedroom was perfect for grandma, and the 4 bedrooms up, including a kids hang out pooltable area, allowed plenty of sleeping accommodations. The separate livingroom and TV rooms on the first floor allowed us to spread out. The highlight is the porch, with a covered pavillion table and seating for 8, overlooking the harbor and the spacious yard. The short walk down the road to a public access beach was truly a bonus, as many beaches around the island are private. Daily short drives into town to Stop 'n Shop for groceries and Winds Up to take lessons in any water sport you desire (sailing, stand up paddle boards, kayaking), made Vineyard Haven the right choice as apposed to congested traffic in other MV towns. Preston was very responsive home owner to work with. We highly recommend this home."
