  • Beautiful, cozy home close to Town

"I stayed at Cynthia's home (both houses) with a full bridal party and significant others for my best friend's wedding. It was a lot of people to coordinate but Cynthia made it easy to maneuver and all rooms offered privacy and comfort for everyone. I only wish we could have spent more time at the house! The houses were cozy and lovely with everything we could have possibly needed. When we arrived everything was clean with easy to follow instructions for all appliances, check in and check out. A 15 minute walk from Main street, the house was close to everywhere we needed to be during a busy wedding weekend. I definitely hope to stay here again soon. Thanks again, Cynthia!"

  • Best of the Best!

"Winding Down is so wonderful in so many ways. The house is extremely well laid out and afforded our two families plenty of room to spread out. The loft was great for the teenagers and there were 2 masters which were fantastic for the parents. We had great family dinners at the dining table and were able to grill out on the back deck while we watched our younger ones kick the soccer ball around in the private pack yard. The sun-filled front yard was perfect for morning coffee. What we really loved was the proximity to town and beaches. Some of us frequented town while me and the boys hit Cisco or Nobadeer for surfing. The house is well appointed, we thoroughly enjoyed preparing our family meals, often packing up coolers for the beach and our trip to Great Point. The house beach chairs were great as we used them quite often. If you are lucky enough to get this house make sure you make a trip around the corner for fresh made doughnuts at the Downey Flake! If your not toooooo tired in the evening you can catch some great live music at the Chicken Box. (just a hop skip and a jump from the Downy Flake) We were sad to pack it up at the end of our stay - but are looking forward to a return trip! An awesome vacation on all accounts, a wonderful home away from home!"

  • Another year of fond memories

"We loved returning to 7 Highland Avenue this year. The location is excellent, in a beautiful neighborhood within easy walking distance of Steps Beach, a 15-min walk to town, a bus stop 2 blocks away, and the wonderful "Something Natural" sandwich shop just 4 blocks away. We explored all parts of the island using the bikes that came with the house, which have baskets for carrying beach stuff or groceries. We were fine doing without a car for the whole week. I love the multi-functional, cozy living space. The living room is the congregating area at all times of day for meals, reading, chatting, playing cards. The ingenious wicker chairs have "lap boards" so you can read, write, and eat comfortably in one spot. Or you can pull out the folding table for additional seating. Personally, I like a bath rather than a shower and the bathtub is roomy and deep in that old-fashioned bathtub-with-feet kind of way. Be aware that the 3rd bedroom is upstairs with steep wooden stairs and a low ceiling, so it's best for kids who are old enough to manage stairs safely, but not fully adult-size yet. Lots of great memories for kids to create up there. Adults can fit upstairs, too, if they are young at heart, agile, and not too picky."
