  • Well-stocked cottage near the beach.

"We just came back from a great week on Plum Island at Paul and John's cottage. The beach is a short walk and never crowded. We rented paddle boards (at very friendly Plum Island Kayak in Newburyport), went biking, had dinner in Portsmith, went lobstering and took a boat trip to a beach in Gloucester. All in all a great trip. The cottage is surprisingly big--we hosted 9 people for a lobster dinner on the patio--and very well equipped. Some things that were appreciated: lots of towels, washer/dryer, beach chairs and umbrella, hair dryer, grill, lobster-eating utensils, paper towels, soap (hand, dishwasher, and laundry), and trash bags. Grocery store is a bit far, so you need to stock up. Definitely try Mad Martha's for breakfast."

  • Lovely Accommodations and Owners, Outstanding Location

"Having lived in MA for many, many years and now living in South Carolina, we always enjoy return visits to explore our favorite locations in greater depth. We were looking for a quiet place on/near the ocean to enjoy fall foliage. "On the Cove" met and exceeded our hopes and expectations. The apartment is large and open with loads of light and views from several vantage points. The kitchen is fully equipped and we enjoyed preparing quite a few meals to balance our dining out and dining in plan. The bed is super-comfortable and was dressed with high-quality linens. Though it was October and much of the garden had been put to bed, it was very clear that the landscaping has great bones and would no doubt be stunning in spring/summer. The owners were just so lovely and accommodating. We could go on and on. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly for your Cape Ann adventure."

  • One of the best weeks ever for our family!

"This home is just amazing and ever so charming. Deborah, the owner was the sweetest and so fortunate to have such lovely properties. She even allowed our 'puppy', "Luna" to have her first Rockport adventure. We have been to Rockport many times but this by far was the coziest, fully stocked, beautifully decorated and whimsical home of all the places we stayed, ever! Deborah was there if we needed her but allowed us to feel independent. The location is just perfect as it is on a side street with not much traffic and just a minute or two walk to the town square, the ocean, Motif #1 and Bearskin. Parking was super and able to accommodate 2 cars per unit. My daughter loved the short walk to the Red Skiff for breakfast in the morning! The back yard is so quaint and sitting on the deck offered such a peaceful vibe. Honestly, there is nothing negative to say as everything was just perfect, peaceful and happy! We had one of the most relaxing Rockport vacations ever and will rent from her again next summer for sure. I'm already planning so we don't miss out on the month we hope to stay next year. Do not hesitate on this home for a second. Also, for those who may be afraid of the pets allowed, I can tell you there was not even a hint that any pet has stayed in the past. The place was pristine and the only smell was of the stunning gardens that surround the home! Rockport was just made more special to us because of Deborah and her beautiful home. Thank you so, so much and see you next year ! We will be in touch soon! =) PS. If any reader is planning a trip during the 4th of July, DONT MISS THE BONFIRE! It was the largest, most incredible bonfire I could even comprehend! The parade in both Gloucester and Rockport were just as quaint as one could imagine being in New England for such a celebration!"
