  • Great location, interesting historical property

"The house was as expected; the owner emphasized that it is not a hotel, it's a 200 year old house, some windows don't open, the doors don't fit and the floors are squeaky and uneven. This just added to the true character of the house. The house was clean and everything was serviceable. Modern kitchen and bathrooms and plenty of room for the seven of us. If you have small kids, the stairs to the attic bedrooms are narrow, steep and have a small landing at the top, it might not be ideal; our youngest is 14 so it wasn't an issue with us. The location is great; nice neighborhood, walking distance to the Commons, and all the nearby attractions. We drove into Boston four days during our stay...yes, Boston traffic sucks, but it was nice to come back home to Salem and relax. There is a nice patio out back with gas and charcoal grills. This house was perfect for us."

  • Very Cute, and great location close to the water!

"Laurel's home is a really cute cottage close to the water. You can see the Salem harbor with sail boats from the front porch. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and other necessities. The furniture was comfortable and cozy. Lots of clean towels and pillows, and the master bed was very comfortable as well. On the con side. We got to the house late and it was very dark and difficult to find light switches. Also, the second bedroom's air conditioner did not have the correct adapter to be plugged into the wall. However, Laurel was on the phone with me and helped me locate one, so we could use the AC. We thoroughly enjoyed the home, it was like being at our own place, thank you!"

  • Great House, Great Location

"Our family needed a comfortable place to stay while attending a funeral in the Salem area. The house has lots of character and was perfect for our needs as it was able to accommodate multiple family members over several days. The location was perfect as we were able to walk to nearby grocery store and restaurants in a very scenic part of town. There was some street & construction noise, but that cannot be helped given the area density and where the house is located. Phil, the home owner, was always extremely responsive before and during our stay, which is a huge plus!! Would definitely stay again if returning to the area."
