  • Great choice when in Salem!

"From the beginning Mary was responsive and insightful as we planned our trip. The house was beautiful and spacious and equipped with everything we needed. It was a 15-20 minute walk to the train station and various Salem attractions. Gulu Gulu Cafe is a must go. The only disadvantage was not having a washer and dryer on site. Overall, great stay and would stay here again!"

  • Great family vacation home

"My family of 14 stayed in this home and we had a wonderful time! This home had plenty of space for everyone to sleep and everyone had a bed! The bedrooms were all fairly large and there was plenty of space to relax and hang out. There were 2 living room spaces to relax and unwind in the evening. A spacious dining room area with a wood burning stove(that we did actually did use to warm up a bit one morning) and plenty of seating. There were 3 showers and 4 toilets, which actually worked out just fine for everyone and the water pressure and hot water was just fine! The kitchen was fully equipped with all your cooking needs with a regular coffee pot and a kuerig. The home is older, but definitely has all the updates and updated, nice furniture. It was very clean. There was also seating in the back yard, with chairs and a picnic table along with a gas grill. The home's location was close to the downtown area in Salem(a couple blocks and a walk through the park). There was a great Pizza place just a couple blocks away called Amazing Pizza....delicious and friendly owner! The commuter train was in walking distance to the house, maybe 10 minutes and we used that for 2 days to get to Boston and back. We took the train($7pp to the north station in Boston) and then had to switch trains depending on what part of town we wanted to go to. We did take an uber to the USS Constitution once and the one way trip was $77! The train was much easier and convenient. You would not necessarily need a car depending on where you wanted to go. However, we did have one car for our group and did use it to run to the grocery store, which is probably not as walkable(except CVS and other shops). We also took an uber from the airport and the cost was about $35/45 vs $65 for a cab(we had one of each) and the ride from the house to the airport is about 45minutes. Cole, the owner, was delightful to work with and replied to emails within a couple hours to a day. We would definitely consider returning to this home if we vacationed in this area again!"

  • The Pond House

"This was a great location for our family gathering. The house has plenty of bedrooms and baths and a huge deck overlooking the pond. There was no a/c but plenty of fans and only two really humid days. We all enjoyed watching the wildlife in and around the pond and everyone fell in love with Henry's dog, Iggy. Marblehead has cycling trails and a lovely downtown. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem had wonderful exhibits. Along with spending a day in Boston and visiting Rockport and Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester there was much to do. All in all, a fun week."
