  • Clean, Raised my expectation for next visit!

"The property had everything advertised. Super close to Saginaw Bay. Wake up - To pole in the water was 7 minutes flat. Keep up the good Homeaways!"

  • Very beautiful location

"The house is great for entertaining and just hanging out. There is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful lake view. The house is well stocked with kitchen ware, utensils, etc. There is a second refrigerator in the basement for overflow beverages. The fourth bedroom has a pullout couch. Lakeside Golf Course is a hidden gem. It is about 1 1/2 miles from the house. It is 9 holes, but very well maintained. Bring your own beer. The have a par 6. Yes that is right, a par 6."

  • Nice Up North Cabin on the Lake

"The cabin had all the amenities detailed in the VRBO listing. Everything worked and there were no issues with anything during our stay. It was very hot for a few days during our stay, however there is a basement which had 3 bedrooms, so was able to get out of the heat for sleeping. The days it was more typical temperatures, the cabin stayed fairly cool if you opened up for sleeping at night and then closed it up later in the morning. There were several fans available also. The only item I had a little issue with was the dock, it was a little wobbly side to side when walking on it. It had no problems with the boat tied up even during the busy weekend. I mention this as my elderly mother needed to be escorted while on the dock to the boat. I grew up as a kid with a cabin on this lake, so I knew the area and what to expect. It had been ~20 years since I had been there. It has the same MO, during the week you have the lake to yourself and on the weekend, get your skiing in before lunchtime because it gets really busy. We spent most of the time on the lake skiing, tubing, cruising, fishing and swimming. The cabin location worked well for this as it was plenty deep at the end of the dock for diving and jumping off and for skiing. The lake has a couple of marinas and a couple of restaurants, so no need to leave the lake. There are a couple of stores and restaurants within 20 minutes drive time also. The owner provided timely responses to questions, provided detailed instructions for check-in/out, directions, boat launch, etc. I had no need to contact him while at the cabin. The neighbors were very friendly. We would rent the cabin again if we decided to return to Secord Lake."

  • Wonderful!

"Our family gets together once a year in August, coming from Seattle, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. This was one of the best vacations we have had. The home is great for a large group to gather in. We had plenty of beds for our family, 11 most nights with a couple of nights with 12. The lake was lovely and we enjoyed the use of the pontoon boat and kayaks. We brought along a fishing boat and caught fish every outing, catch and release. The homeowner was very responsive to our needs, the house was well-stocked, and the site on the lake was perfect! We will definitely be back."
