  • So NICE this snob was thrilled!!!!!

"I am the pickiest individual about staying places, staying here was a thrill. Clean, beautiful, upgrades galore not to mention the nicest owner ever. I had run across a coffee pot that was broken from prior renters and she made sure it was addressed right away. We rented wave runners, fishing from the doc, just enjoyed the view and peacefulness. My teenagers enjoyed the view of the stars that we do not get here in the city. Hands down a top notch place to stay, my extended family is from Alpena and they raved about the place when they visited. As for the other comments from the 2 star renter, there is wood for sale at the end of the street for $5 on the honor system we had bonfires nightly. Air condition, we opened the windows and enjoyed the breeze from the lake. This place was great!!! WE will only rent here when I go back to visit. LOVED IT!"

  • Great location and hosts!

"Kevin and Jan have a wonderful cottage on Mullet Lake. It is a great home base; you can explore many places in northern Michigan and come home to a comfortable bed at night. Also Mullet Lake marina rents very nice pontoons to explore the lake and Inland Waterway. Had a great time."

  • Perfect Family House

"House- Perfect for a family vacation. You do have the feeling of being up North but are only 10 minutes away from downtown East Tawas. The house is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Located right on Lake Huron on a very quiet street. The sun rising over the lake is breathtaking. We were able to enjoy a full moon. The Kelly's provide a telescope so you can enjoy the night sky. The Tall Ships came back up from Bay City, many sail boats and freighters. The Lighthouse/Tawas State park is 3 miles away. Restaurants/Shopping-So many to choose from. We enjoyed G's pizza and Mr. Jack'ss. We stayed away from downtown on Friday and Saturday(very busy). We went into town on Tuesday and Wednesday and were seated immediately. Many, many cute shops for shopping with unique and unusual gifts. If you're looking for t-shirts or sweatshirts with East Tawas on it, visit Ben Franklin first. Lakefront- The house has a two tiered deck that is right on lake that you can enjoy the view from. At this time, there is no safe access from the deck to the lake because of the lake level being high and the stairs were damaged over the winter. There are boulders to left that you can get down, but it was hard for my 7 and 9 year old and for me. There is lake access that is just 3 houses down with a small beach. It was not an inconvenience . Sandy, sandy bottom that we enjoyed. We were able to swim/walk and look at the houses from the lakeside. We did use the 2 beaches in town which are beautiful too. The kids were able to make new friends while playing at the beach . I would highly recommend this house for rental. But of course, there were a few things that we saw. The lakeside decks needed to be sanded and sealed. Was afraid of my children getting slivers and were constantly telling them to put on their shoes. There is no air conditioning and only 2 small fans were provided. We did have 2-90° days. A bigger fan is needed. You can strategically place the fans and work with the natural breezes from the lake to cool the house. And my last suggestion, binoculars . We found ourselves many times wanting to get a closer look at the freighters and the ships that were going by. Thank you for sharing your house."

  • Perfect place for me!

"I was travelling on my own - with my pet - to northern Michigan and needed access to Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island. This was the perfect place - 24 minutes away! The house was comfortable, fully stocked with kitchen supplies, and the deck on the back was the perfect place to sit at night. I loved this place!! If I ever go up there again and am in need of a place to stay, I hope this is available. Ken was very accommodating."
