  • Shady Cabin near The Big Ticket Festival in Gaylord

"There were plenty of comfortable beds and lots of hot water for all of us. Not too far from the Otsego Fair Grounds, where we went to The Big Ticket Festival. If you want solitude, this is the place for you! :)"

  • What a hidden gem!

"My family of 5 (3 kids--7, 5, 5) stayed for a pre-Christmas get away. We arrived to find a great Northern Michigan cottage-feel in lakeside setting. The cottage is well built and nicely appointed with quality and charm. Everything was clean, fresh and comfortable. There was plenty of room but we still got the cosy feel of a cottage in the woods. The pictures do not do this gem justice!"

  • Great cabin!

"I stayed at this property for a long weekend in August. The cabin is awesome! It's more updated looking than the pictures make it seem, it's very clean, and more roomy than I expected. There is a flat screen tv now instead of the older one in the pictures, however there is no cable or internet so be aware of that. I have Verizon and my service was terrible until I got into town. There is also no air conditioning, which to my surprise the cabin stayed pretty cool and comfortable, except for the bedroom at night. Even with the ceiling fan going and the fan I brought, it was still very hot. The property is beautiful and there's an amazing pond loaded with a variety of fish and turtles! I fed them....a lot :) The only issue I had was that the trail leading down to the river is very narrow and overgrown with tons of flowers and plants, so as your trying to swat the bugs away (yes, they were horrible) and carry your things down to the river, it can be a little challenging. I was also under the impression that your right on the river, as in being able to just walk right in with easy access, but it's not. There's a small, mowed out strip and the fire pit, but you're on like a hillside so it's a good 20 feet or so drop off down to the river and it didn't seem doable to climb down the side to get down to the water. I'm not a professional fisher, I just do it for fun, however I couldn't quite figure out how to try fishing that high up and with all the tall grass and branches coming off the slope so I didn't do any fishing from the property. All in all it's a great cabin and the land is beautiful, I'd definitely recommend. Last thing, the driveway is a shared driveway with a few other homes and it's narrow, so go slow around corners!"

  • ThisIsIt-June 2016

"This is the first year my family decided to vacation somewhere north of our home, and the change of location was well worth it. ThisIsIt features a roomy cottage, which easily housed 8 of us (5 adults and 3 kids) as well as a pet, and includes all the amenities you can think of. The beach area with the fire pit was a great way to end our days making smores and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Having a pontoon to use was a fun addition to our vacation that isn't available at most rentals. We would use it to fish, drive out to the sandbar where the water is waste deep to swim, or just cruise around the quaint lake to enjoy the weather. I would highly recommend staying at ThisIsIt for a relaxing get away. Thanks for a great vacation!"
