  • Great relaxing vacation cottage!!!!

"A great cottage with a nice remodel job that was very warm, cozy and a open floor concept. We had a great time at the cottage kayaking, and canoeing. We swam off the boat in the sandbar and done some fishing but the fishing was not very good, but is always hit or miss. Our fur baby Roxy (german shepherd) absolutely loved the lake and was wore out every night. My kids loved kayaking the lake the most in early am and late evening. Beautiful sunsets and great sky view when having a nice bonfire making smores. Thank you Melody and Randy for allowing us to rent your gorgeous cabin, bring our dog . The owners are very easy to work with, very accommodating, and respond very quickly to all your concerns. I would definitely recommend this cabin and we will definitely be back."

  • Great place for the family

"We have been traveling to Oscoda for many years and love staying on Lake Huron. We were lucky enough to find Tim's place and slide into a last minute cancellation. We loved the location and seclusion - while still be very close to a few general stores and town. We loved it!"

  • Perfect Family House

"House- Perfect for a family vacation. You do have the feeling of being up North but are only 10 minutes away from downtown East Tawas. The house is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Located right on Lake Huron on a very quiet street. The sun rising over the lake is breathtaking. We were able to enjoy a full moon. The Kelly's provide a telescope so you can enjoy the night sky. The Tall Ships came back up from Bay City, many sail boats and freighters. The Lighthouse/Tawas State park is 3 miles away. Restaurants/Shopping-So many to choose from. We enjoyed G's pizza and Mr. Jack'ss. We stayed away from downtown on Friday and Saturday(very busy). We went into town on Tuesday and Wednesday and were seated immediately. Many, many cute shops for shopping with unique and unusual gifts. If you're looking for t-shirts or sweatshirts with East Tawas on it, visit Ben Franklin first. Lakefront- The house has a two tiered deck that is right on lake that you can enjoy the view from. At this time, there is no safe access from the deck to the lake because of the lake level being high and the stairs were damaged over the winter. There are boulders to left that you can get down, but it was hard for my 7 and 9 year old and for me. There is lake access that is just 3 houses down with a small beach. It was not an inconvenience . Sandy, sandy bottom that we enjoyed. We were able to swim/walk and look at the houses from the lakeside. We did use the 2 beaches in town which are beautiful too. The kids were able to make new friends while playing at the beach . I would highly recommend this house for rental. But of course, there were a few things that we saw. The lakeside decks needed to be sanded and sealed. Was afraid of my children getting slivers and were constantly telling them to put on their shoes. There is no air conditioning and only 2 small fans were provided. We did have 2-90° days. A bigger fan is needed. You can strategically place the fans and work with the natural breezes from the lake to cool the house. And my last suggestion, binoculars . We found ourselves many times wanting to get a closer look at the freighters and the ships that were going by. Thank you for sharing your house."
