  • Amazing week on Grand Lake

"We had a wonderful time staying at Dana's cottage on Grand Lake. You are near so many beautiful places to visit. We visited the lighthouses, rode bikes, took many long walks with our dogs, built a fire in the fireplace on a chilly night, and enjoyed an Beautiful and different sunset view every night on the deck overlooking the lake. We cant recommend the experience enough, so do yourself a favor."

  • Temporary Housing for Travel PT!

"I work as a travel physical therapist and had an assignment in Alpena from September through December. Temporary housing is always difficult to find because I travel with 2 dogs!! Amber was absolutely great with allowing the dogs and for a VERY REASONABLE one time fee! While living in the home we had some minor issues arise and Amber fixed them as quickly as she could! The home itself is absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! In fact, my parents came up to visit while we were living there and want to rent it for a weekend in the summer because of the perfect location! Really a great place! :)"

  • Beautiful, friendly, fun and totally enjoyable

"We spent 6 days here and enjoyed every day. A lovely setting, never had to use one ounce of repellent and sitting on the porch in the early morning and evening couldn't have been more serene. Tammy was a wonderful host, never bothering us unless we asked her for help. The home has everything you need, as did Posen. Close to Alpena and Rogers city. Tammy gave us a tour of the mill, as well as the out buildings that are being added or done and being used for weddings, etc. This trip met all of our expectations and we would recommend it to friends, relatives, anyone who wants comfort and serenity."

  • Most Amazing Sunsets

"Our family rented this cottage 5 years ago. Each year since, we have rented a cottage in different locations. We loved and missed this place so much that we came back this year. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. The house is tucked into the woods with a beautiful view of the bay. There are no immediate neighbors to one side and the owners have the cottage on the other side. It feels very private. The house is very clean and we comfortably slept 10 people (5 adults, 5 children). However, I did not spend too much time in the house because it is so beautiful to sit outside on the deck or in the water. There are also some small trails to walk on through the woods. The beach is very rocky, no sand, but there is a small platform deck to sit on. Aqua shoes are a must as the lake bottom is all rock, too. But the water is so clear and because it is shallow, it is relatively warm. We were able to just put our chairs in the water and relax. The kids had fun swimming. The bay is also the perfect place to kayak. I can't say enough about how beautiful it is here. The pictures shown don't do it justice. I highly recommend that the owner add some panoramic views of the shoreline. Also, you must catch the sunset at night. It is amazing and each night it was different. If you are lucky, you may also catch a storm passing over Lake Huron in the distance at night. We saw some of the wildest lightening across the sky."
