  • Exceptional Lakefront

"The Lake Esau rental worked perfectly for my family. A beautiful lake with minimal boat traffic. Modern cottage with a wonderful upstairs loft and full modern bath with jetted tub. We really enjoyed the breeze from the large deck facing the lake. Be sure to stop at the Portage store for ice cream right down the street."

  • Clean quarters, beautiful & secluded location

"We stayed for 3 nights. Had a wonderful time. The house was clean and spacious. The online pictures of the property didn't do it justice. It is actually larger and more beautiful than the pictures show. There are neighbors on each side of the property but there are enough trees in between the properties to make you feel completely secluded. Other than the birds, squirrels and chipmunks, the only visitor we had was the neighbors little dog. Our only complaint would be that the washer wasn't working properly. The cold water was draining out of it as quickly as it was going in. If you'd like to use the washer while you're there, you might want to ask the owner if he'd have it serviced. We would definitely stay here again. Pam & Judy"

  • Nice & quiet

"Cabin is exactly what it advertises. The place was nice and clean and well stocked. Loved the bikes and the cornhole game. The linens and bedding were quality and kitchen had anything you might need. We came with kayaks which was perfect for the shallow bay that you are on. We would definitely stay again!"

  • Most Amazing Sunsets

"Our family rented this cottage 5 years ago. Each year since, we have rented a cottage in different locations. We loved and missed this place so much that we came back this year. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. The house is tucked into the woods with a beautiful view of the bay. There are no immediate neighbors to one side and the owners have the cottage on the other side. It feels very private. The house is very clean and we comfortably slept 10 people (5 adults, 5 children). However, I did not spend too much time in the house because it is so beautiful to sit outside on the deck or in the water. There are also some small trails to walk on through the woods. The beach is very rocky, no sand, but there is a small platform deck to sit on. Aqua shoes are a must as the lake bottom is all rock, too. But the water is so clear and because it is shallow, it is relatively warm. We were able to just put our chairs in the water and relax. The kids had fun swimming. The bay is also the perfect place to kayak. I can't say enough about how beautiful it is here. The pictures shown don't do it justice. I highly recommend that the owner add some panoramic views of the shoreline. Also, you must catch the sunset at night. It is amazing and each night it was different. If you are lucky, you may also catch a storm passing over Lake Huron in the distance at night. We saw some of the wildest lightening across the sky."
