  • Beautiful, peaceful, and a MUST!

"I would encourage anyone who needs a place to relax, fish and need of seclusion! The owners, Steve and Vickie, keep a beautiful 2 bedroom home, by far exceeds a cabin, share a beautiful place on Ocqueoc Lake. It was hard to come home to everyday life in which is busy; yet, you miss your family. I read 3 books, enjoyed fishing at night, meeting Alvin and Theodore the friendly chipmunks. Loved watching my favorite hummingbirds. Steve offered to take our car to Lake Huron for us to kayak starting from Ocqueoc Lake into Ocqueoc River and then into Hammond Bay, unfortunately weather kept us from kayaking further. We will definitely go back. Thank you Steve and Vickie for the peacefulness that I was in need of. The stay was so needed. I love the happy hour shadow!! If you want to know what that means, book a stay!!"

  • Amazing week on Grand Lake

"We had a wonderful time staying at Dana's cottage on Grand Lake. You are near so many beautiful places to visit. We visited the lighthouses, rode bikes, took many long walks with our dogs, built a fire in the fireplace on a chilly night, and enjoyed an Beautiful and different sunset view every night on the deck overlooking the lake. We cant recommend the experience enough, so do yourself a favor."

  • Secluded Cottage on Waterfront

"The cottage was lovely, actually better than most up-north cottages by having a little more updated feel. It was clean and tidy, uncluttered and inviting. The spacious lot had serene woods plus of course a great stairway to the private beach on beautiful Lake Huron. One of my dogs wouldn't let the cold October water keep him out. We had a great, relaxing time enjoying Michigan Autumn. We didn't see the bald eagles, but my brave dog did get acquainted with a porcupine! It could've been a lot worse, but he survived with just a few quills as souvenirs. I guess the stay wasn't all completely relaxing ;) It was an interesting experience!"

  • Great location, clean, fun yard!

"The Good Stuff: Hammond Bay Cottage was exactly as described in the rental listing. Rooms, floor, bedding were clean, kitchen and utensils were clean as well. Washer and Dryer were new and worked well. The back yard tiki bar was an fun way to have some drinks, lunch or dinner. There is plenty of tiki torches around the out side of the house to light up the dark night sky. The back yard is all sand so it feels like your still on the beach. Nice size fire pit and a ball tossing game were nice additions. The deck around the house is very nice and has lots of room to lounge in the deck chairs, plenty of chairs available as well with a great view of Lake Huron. There was a picnic table on the deck we never uncovered as we liked the tiki bar so much. There was a cart available to load your beach supplies up and wheel it down to the beach that a short walk away. Also provided is a beach umbrella. The beach is nice and sandy, witch can be rare for northern Lake Huron. I Paddled boarded 5 miles in Hammond Bay and could hardly find a rock! Several board games and playing cards are provided. The Not So Good Stuff: Tiki bar had lights but I couldn't find an extension cord to power them on, if you bring your own it needs to be 25 feet or longer. TV needs an upgrade, and also could use a better HD antenna. We didn't want to watch a ton of TV but the Olympics were on and we wanted to catch some events and it was difficult to watch them. Also we couldn't find Direct TV (but we did see the dish outside) The not so good stuff is very minor and would not change my over all view of recommending this place to friends or family"
