  • Our Home Away from Home

"This was an exceptionally wonderful experience for my husband and myself, along with my daughter and her family. Our two granddaughters loved the pond and the deck. We loved watching the Lake Michigan sunsets and the wildlife. With so much acreage, the property is quiet and relaxed, yet so close to Lake Michigan and Petoskey and Harbor Springs to the south and Mackinaw City and beyond to the north. We took full advantage of the proximity, swimming on a beautiful Lake Michigan beach recommended to us by Margaret, the chalet's wonderful owner, and took the easy drive to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island and to see the Soo Locks and museum. The house is so pleasant and easy to be in. Margaret and Stan have thought of everything, and it is every bit as beautiful (and more) as you see in the photos they have posted. Margaret met us the first night and oriented us to the house and the area and then we were on our own to spend the delightful and delicious week at the house together as a family, making memories. I would Most definitely recommend this rental to anyone. Beautiful house, beautiful area and wonderful, easy to work with owners. Thank you so much, Margaret and Stan!"

  • Wonderfully homey with plenty of space and privacy.

"This home looks exactly like the photos. It is extremely clean and wonderfully homey. The location is ideal with easy driving distance to beaches, the dunes, various lighthouses, and parks. Located in a quiet neighborhood; the house and yard are very private. The owner is wonderful to work with. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others heading to Harbor Country. You must try Froelich's for a cinnamon roll, fresh blueberry muffin or other sweet bakery item within walking distance of the cottage. The sun porch was a treat for morning coffee or just to read and relax. This house can easily handle a large family or friends getaway with plenty of space for all. I hope I can come back again next year."

  • north woods perfection

"We spent a week...six adults, two little boys. Lake Michigan at the bottom of the steps, sound of the waves, plenty of sand castle building and rock hunting, very comfortable and charming house, sunsets you pretty much have to see to believe. Erika and Otto a pleasure to work with. The Pond Hill Farm shouldn't be missed, likewise the Kilwin's chocolate tour, and the Tunnel of Trees. Our last day the six year old said "We should live here." Nobody disagreed."

  • Breath of fresh air

"This is our second year staying here, we have been coming to the area for many years and have stayed at many different places, this is by far the best; the home is great, the view is awesome, the owner is very accommodating. We like to fish for salmon and lake trout, there is room for the boat and trailer on site and the public launch is nearby. We also booked the upstairs apartment as my adult children joined us from out of town. They loved the place and St. Ignace, we had a great time and plan to be back next year."
