  • Hostess with the Mostess!!

"We had a lovely time at this quaint little cottage on the lake!! Two bedrooms plus a futon made it perfect and incredibly affordable for our party of 5. Despite the heat (it was in the 90's) the cottage is shaded by woods and has many ceiling fans to keep it comfortable, even during a heat wave. And there's always the lake. Small, well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Sally, the owner, was close enough to help with anything we needed. She was also (over) careful to respect our privacy, so if solitude is what you seek, still a great choice. But we are social people who LOVED her company, stories, tips, etc. She even took us out on her pontoon for a cruise around the lake and partied with us a bit- what a hoot! The fire pit was the gathering place at night while we watched lightning bugs and shooting stars buzz on by while listening to the soothing sounds of the night frogs. We almost felt like locals by the end of the trip and we're sad to leave. We will be back Sally, and we're bringing some more cold Michigan brewskis with us! Thanks for everything!"

  • Perfection!

"This is our 3rd stay at Bass Lake and we will be back! Comfy, well taken care of cottage, so well equipped, so convenient to so many activities! The owners are so kind and considerate. You'll find that everything you need is right here. We went to Traverse City and to some of the other small towns around here, antiqued, read, walked, slept late in the comfortable beds, visited a vineyard, drove through the Old Mission Peninsula, and a host of other activities. This place is your perfect home base. Book this place early, it is so nice the calendar fills up quickly!"

  • A quiet place in the woods.

"The Tree House is a perfect place to base a tour of the Leelanau Peninsula. The location is good for drives to Sleeping Bear, Glen Lake, Leelanau, Northport, Frankfort and so on, while coming back to a comfortable and well equipped cabin in the woods. Quiet and secluded. Be prepared for stairs, as it is a carriage house over a large garage. A great place for a couple with a dog. Norm is a good host."

  • Clean, pleasant, exactly as described

"My husband, Bart and I had a wonderful time while staying at the Lone Pine Cottage in Lake Ann, Michigan August 6 - 13, 2016, and would certainly recommend Lone Pine to friends. We hope to return again next year. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and self sufficient. It is a perfect, central location to stay if one wants to explore the Lelanau and Benzie Counties. We found it to be very private, quiet and peaceful. Finally, it was very easy and pleasant to communicate with Jeannine and her husband and we appreciate all they did for us. Judi and Bart Ridley"
