  • Everything we'd hoped for and more.

"We could not have enjoyed our 6-day stay more. The studio was clean, comfortable, and very thoughtfully decorated. Having the bed rolled away into the wall made it seem even more spacious. Everything we needed was provided, and we enjoyed being able to grill three nights. We loved being close to both lakes. And LuAnn and Sig could not have been better hosts. (A big thank you to them!) We would stay here again in a heartbeat."

  • Front Porch Hammock Cottage on 13 Mile in Pierport

"This is a lovely cottage; special touches like the antique school bell on vintage back door, small wooden cone lights over the kitchen bar, beautiful clerestory windows in the main living space made it a very charming place to stay. The light, shadows, weather visible from these windows made for a wonderful place to relax and read. We enjoyed spending time in the back yard near the fern lined forest near some of Carolyn's many flower gardens."

  • Perfect Vacation

"This place exceeded expectations! This is a perfect getaway; secluded on 10 acres across from Upper Herring Lake. The home itself is immaculate and practically everything you can think of is at your fingertips. Wonderful for quiet mornings watching birds on the deck while sipping coffee and being wowed by the amazing star show at night. We kayaked the lake twice and continued on Herring Creek for an extended trip seeing herons and a couple of eagles. We biked the Betsie Trail over to Beulah on beautiful Crystal Lake for some swimming and the charming Cherry Hut. We took a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, biking the Heritage Trail and swimming in the (and I'm not kidding) turquoise waters of Lake Michigan near Glen Lake. Frankfort itself is charming, nice variety of restaurants; we enjoyed Dinghy's, Bayview Grille, Fusion (sushi!), Stormcloud Brewing (great local microbrews) and the many ice cream shops on Main Street. Don't forget the Lighthouse Café in Elberta across Betsie Bay. We picked large, sweet blueberries at the self serve! patch about a mile down the road. Sunsets on Frankfort Beach were awesome. You can stay until the sun drops completely below the horizon and till have enough time to drive back to Upper Herring before the skies go black and the shooting star show starts. Don't forget other local attractions such as Green Point Dunes, Inspiration Point near Arcadia & Gravity Hill (you have to do it!) All in all, this was a perfect getaway week for the family; we plan on returning. Well done, Chris & Annabelle!"

  • Phenomenal Beach and Log Cabin

"This location is pretty amazing if you like water sports. The bay is fairly shallow, and a 6ft adult can walk out almost a mile into the exquisite Crystal Lake. We spent hours in the water just swimming and snorkeling the day away. The location is hard to beat, with Platte River, Crystal River, the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, and so much more within 30 minutes. We brought a kayak with for adventures both in Crystal Lake and beyond. The log cabin itself is very comfy for a party of 5. It feels private and exclusive, with a lovely fire pit located in the back yard. Proximity to Frankfort is excellent, what with some great restaurants and the awesome pier located in town. The owner is very responsive and very good to work with. We would absolutely rebook."
