"Me and my husband recently visited the chalet for our honeymoon. We were blown away by the place! The property is on a hill overlooking Torch Lake and the view is amazing! During the day we hiked the property and saw turkey, deer, and many birds. During the afternoon we went on trips to sleeping bear dunes, Bellaire, TC and Mackinaw, all of which were an hour or so away. At night we soaked in the hot tub and watched a beautiful sunset and then a full sky of stars. It was magical to say the least. We also loved the fact that we could sleep on a sleep number bed, super comfy! Great wifi and cell phone coverage too! Definitely will be back!"

  • Great Value an Conveniently Located

"The house is well maintained and all the basics are there. If you like a firm bed, you will be very happy with the sleeping arrangements. Bring your own pillows if you like down. The kitchen is very basic, so if you want to do some cooking, bring your own spices and such. Also, the knives aren't very sharp, so you might want to bring your own. The charcoal grill works just fine for outdoor cooking and if you go in the fall, you might just get some garden fresh tomatoes or peppers and some pears off the fruit trees. We loved that the house is right near the Bear River trail head. It's a quick walk into town and a beautiful place just to hang out. Jim is super nice and easy to work with."

  • Absolutely perfect!

"I cannot say enough positive about this rental. It exceeded our expectations in every area. Dave is an absolute joy to work with. His place is nestled in a very quiet, wooded neighborhood. The cute beach is just a few steps away. My kiddos enjoyed the playground, tennis court, and petoskey hunting as well. The bed was VERY comfortable - and our kiddos enjoyed the other rooms as well. The open living room made the home seem very big-and was great for dinner time conversation. The large windows and sliding door made for incredible breezes in the home. When we arrived, the home was very clean. The huge deck made for a great place for morning coffee and evening drinks!! Our family of 5 had plenty of space to make ourselves at home. THANK YOU DAVE!!!! Hopefully we will see you next year as well. Tina"

  • Family place away from it all

"We had a fabulous stay at the cabin with our 4 kids. This place is amazing! The pictures don't do justice to the custom craftsmanship in the house, bunkhouse, and barn. The cabin is equipped with anything you could possibly need - the kitchen is a cook's dream - the bunkhouse and barn add even more value. 3 kayaks and more bikes than I could count, a ping-pong table, board games, even a set of old school wooden blocks which my little boys loved. It's about a 15 minute drive to Northport, a quaint little town, and within an hour of Sleeping Bear dunes, Traverse City, Leland, Sutton's Bay so you can find plenty to do, see, and eat if you want to stay busy, or just chill at the house! Steve was great, quick to reply from our initial inquiry throughout our week-long stay."
