  • Perfect cottage on Pickerel Lake!

"My extended family has gotten together every year over the past 8 years to rent a cottage on the lake and we have all agreed that this is the best one yet! The cottage gives you the perfect "Up North" feeling of a log cabin nestled in the woods. The yard is beautiful - grassy and shady; the lake is beautiful, and the dock is really nice, too. I really appreciated how easy it has been to work with the owner -- just the greatest experience all the way around!"

  • Family Getaway

"This house exceeded expectations! We consisted of two 76 year olds, 5 adults, and 6 children. There was PLENTY of space for all of us. We never felt we were encroaching on each other. The kitchen was beyond perfect for all to be in there preparing meals. The second refrigerator in the garage was most helpful for overflow. The laundry room on main floor was perfectly situated by the back door ( coming in from the hot tub), and we could change in the restroom adjacent and throw the wet stuff in the dryer. The outdoor screened in gazebo was great to play games in the evening w/o having to worry about mosquitoes. Speaking of games, the basement proved to be a popular spot for the kids. Arcade game packed with a variety of choices, billiard table, darts, and hoops. The scenery outside is wonderful. Nicely wooded, and secluded, made for quiet walks/runs in the morning. The neighbors are beyond nice! Short driving distance to either Petoskey or Harbor Springs. Wanted to fit a day trip in to Mackinaw Island, which was doable at just 30 minute drive, however, we got caught up in so many other things, we fell short. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat yet close to everything you need, look no further! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Many happy memories to last a lifetime."

  • A quiet place in the woods.

"The Tree House is a perfect place to base a tour of the Leelanau Peninsula. The location is good for drives to Sleeping Bear, Glen Lake, Leelanau, Northport, Frankfort and so on, while coming back to a comfortable and well equipped cabin in the woods. Quiet and secluded. Be prepared for stairs, as it is a carriage house over a large garage. A great place for a couple with a dog. Norm is a good host."

  • The stay was great!

"The place we stayed in was very well taken care of. It was a good halfway point between traverse city and a lot of the places around the upper part of Michigan, such as Leland and Suttons Bay. Bill was great, he greeted us in person when we got there, he had all sorts of good information for things to do around the place. He directed us to a terrific restaurant in Leland call The Cove, which was terrific. He also had some great suggestions as for Wineries to try out on the way up to the old mission lighthouse, along with a lot of additional things to check out while around Traverse city. For people with bikes, there's a really nice paved trail that runs very close to the property. The only reason I knocked off a star (if I could, I'd only knock off half a star) is because of the internet. We were a little disappointed by the fact that the internet didn't work. Bill did explain that they were installing fiber optic in the area and that was impacting the internet service, so I understand there wasn't much he could do. There was cable to occupy the evenings, but still it was a bit disappointing. With the internet, it would have been perfect! Thanks again for everything Bill!"
