  • The perfect getaway.

"I am selfishly reluctant to write this review. This home was perfect for our family. The interior is so nice I felt like I was in my own house. The rooms are large and very comfortablely furnished. Kitchen has everything you need. The back porch Is a great place to relax with a book and watch the lake. The two decks are great for mealtimes. Plenty of room and seating. It's just a great house all around. However for my family and I the lake and the beach are the best part of the property. The water is clear and clean. The lake bottom is nice and sandy and the water was warm. The owners provide everything you need to have fun. We paddle boarded ,and kayaked everyday. Just sitting down by the waters edge all day was so nice. The towns around the area all have their own charm. Each has a few places that are worth checking out. They are really nice for day trips and dinner at night. The owner made our stay even that much better. They provided a wonderful welcome basket with all the information you will need. And even some coffee and other goodies for the kids. We cannot wait to get back next summer."

  • Beautiful!

"This home was a pleasure to stay in. The veiws were breathtaking and the sound of the waves were beyond relaxing. I would recomend this home above many others in the area. I don't think I have ever left a vacation feeling as rested as I was from staying here. Have no doubts, if you are wanting the best vacation of the year, stay here."

  • Beautiful week at a beautiful lake house...

"Intermediate Lake has been a home away from home for my family since 1983, and the Bellaire area for my father's family since the 60's. I grew up staying at Holiday Shores resort on Intermediate Lake for a week every August. We ventured away for several years staying on several other lakes throughout Northern Michigan, but our hearts were always at Intermediate Lake and we longed to go back. We finally returned to Intermediate Lake four years ago staying in a couple of other lake homes, but I would have to say this was all around my favorite spot. We had such a great time in this beautiful lake house. The layout is so open and airy with windows lining the entire front giving views of the lake from every angle. The house is decorated so nicely with pretty comfy furniture and an amazing dining room table. We loved having the fully finished walkout basement for added hang out space and the second refrigerator downstairs was perfect while we were down by the water. The outdoor furniture is very nice and comfortable. We were very impressed with how well everything is kept. We rented a pontoon for a couple of days allowing us to get out and enjoy the beauty of the entire lake and go to the sandbar for some great swimming. We loved taking the kayaks and paddle boat out at dust and dawn while the lake was calm and glassy. So peaceful. We found getting into the water from the shore pretty tricky with all the large rocks but the neighbor Tom was very nice in letting us use his frontage. Stairs with a railing off the dock or the shoreline would be ideal, especially for older people if the rocks are necessary to prevent erosion. But with that being said, in all of our years we have never stayed in a more friendly community. All of the neighbors are so amazing and inviting. Jerry, even invited us over to his "man cave" boat house to watch the game, etc. What a nice guy! Our daily walks were met with smiling faces and hellos. The "Secret Garden" at the bend in the road was so cute and fun to walk through. And the people of Central Lake itself are all so nice. We felt like a part of the community from the moment we pulled in the driveway. I would highly recommend visiting the Blue Pelican in Central Lake during your stay here. The outdoor tiki bar is so fun with live music and great service. This was our first family vacation without my dad. And we could not have asked for a better place. He would have love it. Thank you for a great stay."

  • We had a wonderful stay!

"We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was well equipped for my 2 toddlers and the location was central to many of our daily excursions. We drove just over an hour to Mackinac city where we took the ferry to the island. Overall, It was a very beautiful and relaxing getaway! Just what we needed. Laurie was easy to work with and her intro packet was very formative and helpful! I gave 4 stars, one off for cleanliness. The dog hair was more than we cared to see. Our toddler would crawl on the floor and be covered in hair. The shower was dirty and I believe the highchair had never been cleaned. Otherwise, the cabin was in a beautiful quant town, fully stocked with fun toys for the kids, movies and games. My oldest loved the bunk beds and often watched movies in bed."
