  • The Perfect Family Cottage!!

"We loved being here. Reminded us so much of childhood vacations at the lake! Crooked Lake is one of the few lakes on earth where you can actually go anywhere in the world from the end of the dock! It's part of the international waterway. The sandy lake bottom is just right for children and adults alike. The sunsets are amazing! The cottage is exactly that, a cottage. And it's perfect! Just what you want! It's very comfortable and cozy with a great fireplace and room for everyone. The little guest house is a great getaway for grandparents or anyone needing to remove themselves from the crowd! Location is everything and the cottage is so convenient to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinac Island and Indian River. And Traverse City is only 1 1/2 hours away. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and we will be back!"

  • Close to the bridge

"We enjoyed the fact that it's a quick drive to Mackinaw, yet sits on a quiet lake that's very private. Very relaxing property, with everything we needed in the cabin, including a basket of s'more goodies. We really enjoyed our stay!"

  • Crooked Lake fans

"Although we do not currently own property there, our family has spent summers on Crooked Lake for a century now. We rented this home for a family reunion to introduce our sixth generation to this wonderful area. The house's five comfortable bedrooms, large porch and nice yard gave us the space we needed. It is a lovely old house with a nice dock and two mooring bouys which we used for the canoe and sailboat we brought along. The kitchen is more than adequate with plenty of dishes and all the basic cooking pans, tools, etc. The washer and dryer were a great help too. There is a bike path right across the road behind the house to help you get around while keeping you off Route 31. The highway can be busy, especially if special events are occurring. During our stay the sailboat race that ends at Mackinac Island brought traffic. Be aware that the water system includes a pump which is typical of northern Michigan cottages and sometimes struggles to keep up. It does do the job, just don't expect high paced city functioning. The lake bottom is waist or less deep for quite a ways out so great for younger kids. You can rent pontoon boats at either Ryde or Windjammer if you want to anchor out deeper. There is so much to do in this area in the summer you will have a hard time running out of options. Start with eating at Northwoods Restaurant and stopping at the House of Pies, both in walking distance. Although we usually move our reunioun from place to place, we are seriously considering returning here next time."

  • Returning Guest

"This is the our group's second trip to this house and we plan to continue coming back for our annual snowboard trip. The house is well stocked with amenities with plenty of beds and couches for a large group. Mardelle is quick to respond and easy to work with."
