  • Vacation w/ Something for Everyone!!

"Casa de Lago has been my family's vacation destination for several years. Crystal Lake is a notably clean and clear lake which makes it delightful for swimmers. The large T-shaped deck makes a great place to chill and view the panoramic green hills surrounding the lake. The non-smoking home has all the comforts of civilization with a well equipped kitchen for having meals at home. The Betsie River Trail bike path is right out the front door and a short bike ride or drive to Beulah, a sweet little vacation town with a number of nice shops, an organic grocery store and Crystal Lake Adventures where you can rent a bike, kayak, or SUP. Make sure to have breakfast/lunch at L'Chaim Delicatessen which has made-daily bagels and delicious sandwhiches and baked goods. Nearby Frankfort you'll find more shopping and casual or fine dining as well as a wonderful fresh fish market. For site seeing: Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes; Betsie River, Platte River for kayaks, paddling/tubing, Winery Tours and several Farmers Markets. The area is family oriented and quiet! We have fond memories of our vacations at Casa and look forward to our next stay~"

  • Absolutely gorgeous and tranquil!!

"Upon entering the long driveway to Deerpath, the anticipation and excitement of our family grew. Then, when we came through the clearing and the house appeared, we were instantly blown away. The house is much more grand and beautiful than any pictures could ever convey. The property sits on a very private lot. The house was spotless and very well maintained. We had 9 family members staying in the home total and it accommodated us perfectly. There was plenty of room to move around in the house, so we did not bump into each other and plenty of space for the kids to run around and play both inside and outside of the home. We utilized the bonfire pit and roasted marshmallows a few nights. Having two kitchens was lovely and very useful. We were able to cook a very large family meal for our extended family in Michigan. We certainly utilized ever single square inch of that home and property; we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it and would highly recommend the home to friends and family in the future. We do have plans on coming back next year. We were also able to explore the surrounding Elberta, Frankfort and Traverse City areas. We spent a day exploring Frankfort, swimming at the Frankfort beach and Betsie Lighthouse beach. We spent another day swimming at the Elberta beach; which we would highly recommend. The view is spectacular and the beach is very private, however, it's a public beach. We spent two days exploring Traverse City. One day shopping and another day just walking downtown. We also HIGHLY recommend visiting Cherry Republic. It was the childrens' favorite part of our vacation. The cherry wine, cherry soda and cherry ice cream were all hits among our family. Overall, this was one of the best vacations we have ever been on. It was peaceful, relaxing, serene and action packed all at the same time. So much to do and so much beaty to explore in "Pure Michigan"!"

  • Fantastic property

"I can't say enough about this place. We were there the week before Memorial Day and it seemed like we were the only ones on the lake. I spent most of my time sitting out on the back deck, reading and listening to the water lap against the shoreline. The house was beautifully furnished and there were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and silverware. About the only thing we couldn't find were crackers for the Maine lobsters we had delivered while we were there. Also loved that there weren't signs all over the house telling us what not to touch, which towels we weren't to use, or not to sit on the bed comforter, etc. I've been to places like that, and it hardly promotes rest and relaxation. There also wasn't a ton of instructions on what we needed to do before we left the cottage. I had time so I went ahead and washed the sheets and towels and turned on the dishwasher before we left, but it wasn't required. There are lots to do and cute towns nearby to explore. If you have the chance, you have to try the homemade mushroom soup at Platte River Inn. It was so good, we took a quart to go! This property was so fabulous we are already planning our return trip."
