  • Beautiful and relaxing

"What a welcoming home for the weary traveler! Our stay consisted of 3 families coming together for a week of vacationing fun with 14 people in all. Not only was there enough room, but still had additional places to sleep. Kim and Dave have all the conveniences of home ready for their guests. From plenty of linens to highchair and crib to necessary kitchen and bath items. We thoroughly enjoyed the comforts of their home with the birds chirping every morning and the sunrise on the water to the kids being able to run and play in the yard. There is even a basketball net for a family friendly round of "H-O-R-S-E". If you are staying at the property, definitely try to visit the local towns nearby and of course Sleeping Bear Dunes. If staying at this house, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!!"

  • Relaxing in Heaven

"We really enjoyed our vacation in Heaven! Very nice home and excellent location. We loved the deck over the lake. We drank our morning coffee there and our evening beverages! The lake. Is beautiful as well as all the wild life. We saw deer, Eagles, loons, a river otter, rabbits and chipmunks :) We loved watching the freighters go by as well as the sailboats! We certainally will return! Steve & Janet"

  • Great second trip!

"Thanks to the Lisabeth's. We love Restful Nest. Great location, great accomodation. We are very appreciative of the opportunity to stay in Restful Nest. This was our second rental in about a year's time. We found everything to be clean and well maintained. I would recommend the property, but I don't want to share!"

  • Listing was very accurate! Sweet little cottage on a beautiful lake!

"Despite the previous reviewer's complaints, we booked this cottage, as the price was ideal for the location. There are docks all along the lake, but there is a public access area at the end of the road and a little bit of sand for kids to dig and play. The water is crystal clear, thus the name, and is shallow enough to enjoy a pretty large area of water between the docks. Bring a kayak or paddleboard and enjoy the lake. There are several rental businesses in the area, too, many of whom will deliver to you. A very nice public beach is a short bike ride along the Betsie Trail or drive into Beulah, which was our family's preference. A larger, beautiful beach on Lake Michigan is in Frankfort by the lighthouse. The bath and bedroom ceilings are low, but my 6'2" husband managed just fine. Could be awkward for someone taller than 6'4", but with a decent attitude, it's manageable. We did bring bottled water to drink, which served us well on our adventures, too. We have well water at home and struggle with the same issues of smell and taste, so we worked around it. The property is shaded by mature trees. A Weber charcoal grill is on site and was fun to use (we bought our own bricks at the grocery). The neighbors are quiet and kind. Despite being on a public access road to the lake, it was not busy and no one was disruptive. We felt very safe during our week. We enjoyed a lot of biking and hiking up at Sleeping Bear Dunes and a couple of visits to Glen Arbor. We took several bike rides on the Betsie Trail. We weren't fans of the ride from Beulah to Thompsonville, as it was a very rough path, but the area between Beulah and Frankfort was nice. For the serious rider, 22 miles of trail would be very enjoyable. Use an app such as Map My Ride or a Garmin and log some miles! As with any rental, you may need to restock some supplies or bring your own from home. After having used Home Away / VRBO for 8 years, I keep a list of what I should bring or plan to purchase at a local grocery. The Family Fare grocery in Frankfurt met our needs for eating in and the kitchen was stocked enough for easy and simple meals. We enjoyed this area and our stay very much!!"
