  • Beautiful slice of Lake Michigan pie.

"Our 3 generation (ages 20 to 90) family vacation was enjoyed by all. I loved rock hounding on the beach. We walked the shoreline, sunned and read at the shore. We were all lulled by the sound of the surf. Everyone enjoyed the beach fires and star gazing. Spotting the eagles that nest around the point was a highlight. One evening my husband and I were lucky enough to see a fox trotting down the beach; we watched it until it disappeared around the point. Other reviews talked about swimming so I'll weigh in as well. If you wear river shoes or an old pair of sneakers you can walk out to where you're able to swim. Using a boogie board to get you out to where it's deep enough to swim also works. The water is fairly shallow; I swam quite a way out but it was never over my head. If you "play" in the water as opposed to swimming, the rocks might be a problem. There are 2 local township or county beaches that were nice alternatives. (I personally loved the rocks, but I do like rock hounding....). The cottage was comfortable and spacious. Having a dishwasher and a washer and dryer was a bonus. The real feature for this cottage is the beautiful Lake Michigan location. It's quiet, beautiful, and relaxing. The property as well as the surrounding villages of Good Hart and Cross Village facilitate "down time." I look forward to a return visit."

  • Loved the Tree House!!!!!

"We had a great time at this retreat nestled in the woods. It was very private and secluded. The views of Lake Michigan were awesome and could be seen from inside the house and the deck. The sandy beach was just a few steps away. We enjoyed several camp fires under the stars. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the Nature Preserve which was just a few minutes away and also downtown Harbor Springs which is a beautiful town. We can't wait until next year."

  • Clean and spacious

"The space was perfect for what we needed/wanted. The kitchen was actually fully stocked not just bare essentials like in most rentals. Lots of space! If you need a long stay this place would be perfect. Only concern is that the fire alarm in the first floor hallway is hooked up to a light. So the light has to be on for the fire alarm to be on."
