  • Perfect Lake Front House

"I stayed at Heartful Haven for 1 week in August with my husband and 2 kids (ages 2 and 4). We had the most wonderful time and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a well maintained, beautiful log cabin home on a picturesque lake. The space was perfect for our family. There are 3 bedrooms and one of them was large enough for a queen bed and bunk beds with plenty of room for a crib or others to sleep. The master is on the first floor and has views of the beautiful Duck Lake. In fact, the whole house has views - even the laundry room! The back yard is just feet from the lake and has everything you would need... grill, table/chairs, lounge chairs for adults and kids, a fire pit for smores, a swing set, hammocks, etc. It is so peaceful and a perfect place to kick back and relax. I honestly cannot think of anything I would change. The house was so well equipped, which was really nice. We have been to places where we showed up and there was not a single roll of toilet paper to be found in the (very large and not inexpensive) house! So having all the basics like paper towels, ziploc bags, etc was a pleasure. Kate is so organized and has binders with information on restaurants and things to do in the area. Speaking of the area, the house is an easy drive from so many things... farm stands, vineyards, beaches, homemade ice cream (made on the farm), play grounds, breweries, and so much more. The restaurant scene in Traverse City is great and we loved the farm to table restaurants. We look forward to coming back!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an awesome experience renting these TWO cabins for a fall weekend getaway! The property was described accurately the cabin on the lake is an original ;) and has a great real cabin feel! The Second cabin across the street was very updated and felt more like a hotel. Both properties were very clean the cabin on the lake could use an updated maybe slightly bigger shower but it did the job. The view is beautiful, the fire pit right on the water was adorable. There were a couple restaurants right in town that had great food and it was only 20 minutes or so from Traverse City were we spent a good majority of our time! We will definitely consider this in the future! This was a great cabin for a couples getaway but would also be great for a family! I would recommend this to anyone!"

  • Wonderful House on a Beautiful Lake

"The house is just perfect with beautiful lake views! There is enough room to fit comfortably in the living area for eating, games, and movies as well as everyone having their own private space. Cooking meals was a pleasure with the fantastic view. We rented kayaks and spent time on Duck Lake every day and enjoyed a bonfire most nights. Unlike most vacation rentals, this house is directly on the water - no long walk or stairs. We look forward to our next visit!"

  • Wonderful, upscale, newly rebuilt cottage on a terrific lake!

"We stayed at this cottage on Green Lake in late July of 2016. Green Lake is a marvelous, clear, and beautiful 2,000 acre lake about 20 minutes south of Traverse City, Michigan. The lake is lightly used by cottage owners and there was never more than two or three boats on the lake at one time during our stay. This cottage is on the peninsula in the middle of the lake. It is west facing and gets terrific daytime sun and also is in a great position for seeing beautiful sunsets as it faces west. The cottage is only steps from the water, which is clear and has a sandy beach suitable for our four year old grandson to swim in. Even 150' off shore the water was only up to his shoulders. Very nice for kids. The rest of us enjoyed swimming, too! The cottage itself is wonderful. Rebuilt within the last few years, it is very upscale and spacious. The photos accurately depict the home, although one thing they don't highlight is that the rooms have nine foot ceilings, which makes them much more spacious. The master bedroom on the first floor has it's own full attached bath, as well as a doorwall facing the lake and outside deck. It has a queen bed with a very comfortable and very lightly used (new?) mattress. The room is quite large. There is a living room with a three person sofa, a two person love seat, a full sized chair and an Ikea rocking chair. as well as a couple of end tables. Not cramped at all. Very spacious. A gas fire place with field stone exterior is on one wall. The windows are very wide and provide great views of the lake. A full kitchen with recently purchased appliances, granite counter tops, large pantry, two person eating peninsula leads into a dining area with a table that seats six easily. It also opens up via a door wall to the outside deck, which has a dining table with umbrella, beach chairs, etc. A brick paver patio with a charcoal grill is outside as well. There is a den with a sleeper sofa and television which is off the entrance hall. Cable TV, wireless internet, it's all there. A half bath is also off the entrance hall. Upstairs is a bedroom with a full sized bed and another bedroom with two twins. Both rooms face the lake with pretty and wide windows. A large full bath is upstairs as well. The house has central air, too, which is nice for the hot humid days of summer that often are found even in northern Michigan. Held our family of 6 easily, and cold accommodate eight persons no problem. Nice place!"
