  • Comfortable, well-equipped cottage in a pretty setting

"We were seeking a pet-friendly home that could accommodate our full family - my wife and I, plus 4 adult children and their partners for a winter get-away. The Sandy Beach cottage served that purpose well. It is an older two bedroom cottage with a second detached building (a converted garage perhaps?) that has sleeping for up to 6 more people. Two couples stayed in the main cottage, which has a large living room where we could all sit in front of a beautiful fireplace enjoying great views of Lake Leelanau during the day. There was plenty of firewood available to keep us warm and toasty each evening. Three of the couples stayed in the adjoining building. This was basically a one room structure with two bunk beds, a sofa, an entertainment area with TV, and a second full bathroom. The main cottage has a really well-equipped kitchen with a large table that could seat all of us. Carolyn, the owner, was very responsive to a couple of small problems we had when we first arrived - the furnace was not running but she talked me through rebooting it and it functioned without a problem for the rest of our stay, and the septic tank was full causing slow drains, so she had someone come out the next morning to empty it. After that all worked well. There were plenty of entertainment options - TVs in each bedroom including the second building and the living room, music, DVDs, satellite TV, Internet/WiFi, etc. We weren't outside much since it was late December, but I can imagine it is lovely in the summer, as there is a good-sized deck with a grill, lots of outdoor seating, and a fire pit right down at the water's edge. There is, indeed, a small sandy beach on the shore. We all wanted to ski one day, and it was about a one hour drive to Crystal Mountain, where we had a blast. Traverse City was about a 25 minute drive away - a bit further than we had hoped, but we still went into town a couple of times. The tiny town of Lake Leelanau is a couple of minutes up the road, where there is a small grocery store, gas, and other essentials. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels and extra blankets. Overall, we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay."

  • Spacious and clean with lots of room in the perfect location!

"Our large group stayed here for the Toast the Season Wine weekend. Perfect location in the midst of the wineries. We had a shuttle service for the day and the wineries were all so beautiful. Perfect weather for a November weekend - couldn't ask for much better. The house was walking distance to Lake Leelenau for amazing breakfast options at the Leelenau Pie and Pastry shop along with the rest of downtown. Was perfect for our extended stay at the Northern Latitudes Distillery and late night pizza from Dick's Pour House. House has all the needed amenities with a nice fire pit out front and great access to the lakes. Overall perfect pick for the weekend. I would only recommend a more reasonable check out time of 11am. Although we negotiated that, the cleaners were there an hour early and we rushed to get everyone out the door."

  • We are grateful!

"We were very fortunate to find Annie's Cottages! It's hard to find a place to accomidate a large family coming together for a few days of family magical bliss. This cottage was not only centally located in a terrific spot, but was safe, homey, comfortable and came VERY well stocked, which as we all know, is WONDERFUL when traveling! We were even able to bring along our little dog! The fire pit was nice too. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Annie's Cottages, for the WONDERFUL memories!!!"

  • Outstanding Location and House!

"Pine Patch was nothing short of spectacular!!!! We had a 3 generation reunion in this gorgeous house which was home to great fishing, tubing and swimming. Fun times on the lawn playing badminton and croquet. Bring your bikes and golf clubs as the area is PERFECT. And when we needed a rest, the hammocks were perfect for an afternoon nap. The teens LOVED the adjacent cottages and made for a super pleasant trip for all 3 generations as everyone had their own space. The house was beautifully equipped and clean with ample space (including 2 full size refrigerators). But the best memory of all were the dinners enjoying the sunsets. Thanks for a memorable vacation!!!!!"
