  • Wonderful Lakefront property!

"I'm not sure how many good things I should say about this home as I hope to rent it again in the future! My family owned a summer cottage a few doors down from the Stanton's for over 50 years so I was looking for a vacation home close to where ours was (we sold ours about 5 years ago). This home had everything we were looking for in a great floorpan for families. We had 6 adult children with us and having the bedrooms split off was wonderful. I do wish to give credit to the caretaker since we realized that the hot water tank on the bunk bed side of the home was not working. He came out to the house on Sunday afternoon and saw the problem and came back on Monday, July 4th (a holiday!) and fixed it. Timing was perfect as we had two more children arriving that evening so many thanks and much appreciation to him and his willingness to take care of us and make sure our stay was a good one. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed most of our days on the deck at the water and many nights around the fire pit just talking and watching the shooting stars. We even had "front row" seats to watch the fireworks going off across the lake! All in all, a wonderful family trip and one we hope to do more of. We all love Lake Leelanau and while we miss having our own cottage, the Stanton's home was a great choice for us!"

  • Basic house with beautiful shoreline

"Basic amenities without central air or a lot of storage. Did have window cooling but no closet in main bedroom. Had comfortable beds and space for parking multiple cars and a trailer. The shoreline was sandy, had nice dock, we kept our deck boat on the good mooring provided. Neighborhood is quiet, don't need to worry about traffic. The owner of the house was available and returned calls promptly. Loved watching the sunrise, which we prefer over sunsets. Boated or kayak'd every day. The house was 10 minutes from the town of Leelanau, 10 minutes more to Sutton's Bay or Leland, to Traverse City within a half hour. Both catholic churches in area are old, recommend St Mary's in town of Lake Leelanau. Mass at Holy Rosary in Cedar is partially or fully latin depending on what day you go, very traditional. Would not have wanted to spend days stuck inside the house, but worked well as our headquarters, using the lake and exploring the area during the day."

  • Perfect Family Vacation Home

"First, the location is perfect; in the center of Good Harbor Bay between Sleeping Bear Dunes and Leland. The accommodations are fully appointed and comfortable. We recently spent a week here with our 7 adult children and 5 grandchildren. We swam everyday, enjoyed the deck on the beach, had a campfire in the evening and enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. It was convenient having a washer/dryer at our disposal and a dishwasher. We grilled every night for dinner and enjoyed local produce and wines. The kitchen is large and the only equipment we missed was a griddle for pancakes. The four seats at the end of the counter were perfect for our pre-schoolers. With a home this size, it would be nice to have a second refrigerator in the garage. The home is very close to M-22 but with the windows closed, traffic noise was not an issue. None of our vehicles fit in the garage due to the short depth. The driveway accommodated 3 vehicles. Downstairs are 3 private bedrooms, but you need to walk through the 4th bedroom to get to the 3rd bedroom and they share a bath. Two of the downstairs bedrooms have their own outside access. The walk down to Lake Michigan is easy and gradual. The waterfront is sandy with some large rocks, and there is a long, wide sand bar not far from shore. Petoskey Stones were in abundance! Mary Lou was very quick to respond to any needs we experienced. We look forward to returning to Lake Michigan Delight."
