  • Beautiful, classic cottage with modern amenities

"Look no further! I've looked at every rental cottage in Leland and this is by far the nicest cottage available to rent. It has classic charm, along with every modern amenity. Unlike other classic cottage rentals in Leland, which tend to be dark, tired and depressing, this cottage has beautiful, light, clean decor; a beautiful, modern kitchen; and great bathrooms. Another plus is that it's on a gorgeous, private beach...far away from very crowded South Beach."

  • Birthday Celebration

"I rented this cottage for my husband's 60 th birthday celebration. It worked out great! I had my sister from Montana my daughter from New York City , and my son and 6 yr old grandson and 2 others join us. Lots of room for everyone. We had a great time everyday. Tom rented us a pontoon boat and we spent the day on the water. We went to the sand dunes, on a wine tour, visited Leland and Traverse City too. Sunsets were beautiful and a few nights we had a fire in the outside fireplace. Truly we had a memorable vacation."

  • We felt like we were at our own home.

"This property was an amazing place for our New Years Eve weekend. The house is well maintained and you feel right at home, but without any of that family drama, lol. We cook a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner, Bill, was super nice, easy going, and very responsive to the few questions we had. Very easy check in and check out. We will be here next year if we can all make it."

  • Comfortable, well-equipped cottage in a pretty setting

"We were seeking a pet-friendly home that could accommodate our full family - my wife and I, plus 4 adult children and their partners for a winter get-away. The Sandy Beach cottage served that purpose well. It is an older two bedroom cottage with a second detached building (a converted garage perhaps?) that has sleeping for up to 6 more people. Two couples stayed in the main cottage, which has a large living room where we could all sit in front of a beautiful fireplace enjoying great views of Lake Leelanau during the day. There was plenty of firewood available to keep us warm and toasty each evening. Three of the couples stayed in the adjoining building. This was basically a one room structure with two bunk beds, a sofa, an entertainment area with TV, and a second full bathroom. The main cottage has a really well-equipped kitchen with a large table that could seat all of us. Carolyn, the owner, was very responsive to a couple of small problems we had when we first arrived - the furnace was not running but she talked me through rebooting it and it functioned without a problem for the rest of our stay, and the septic tank was full causing slow drains, so she had someone come out the next morning to empty it. After that all worked well. There were plenty of entertainment options - TVs in each bedroom including the second building and the living room, music, DVDs, satellite TV, Internet/WiFi, etc. We weren't outside much since it was late December, but I can imagine it is lovely in the summer, as there is a good-sized deck with a grill, lots of outdoor seating, and a fire pit right down at the water's edge. There is, indeed, a small sandy beach on the shore. We all wanted to ski one day, and it was about a one hour drive to Crystal Mountain, where we had a blast. Traverse City was about a 25 minute drive away - a bit further than we had hoped, but we still went into town a couple of times. The tiny town of Lake Leelanau is a couple of minutes up the road, where there is a small grocery store, gas, and other essentials. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels and extra blankets. Overall, we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay."
