  • Best House on Long Lake

"I have vacationed each year in this house since 2002. This is the first year of the new owners. They have gone into this big comfortable home and started changing things to make it even more beautiful and more comfortable. You wont believe the view of the lake from each window facing the lake...sunrises are amazing. We have always enjoyed watching the yellow plane land on the lake almost every day. I especially love the kitchen, its large enough for more than one or two cooks. As for the new owners, they are so nice to work with, i had a problem with the cable and Tom was nice enough to call the cable company and have them walk me through getting the problem fixed. This house is close to Traverse City (about 10 min.)where you will find some really great shopping and restaurants. So many things close by to do, like visiting the vineyards, Glen Arbor for the Cherry Republic, Empire to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan, Northport for the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.. If you are looking for a fun place with a great location on the lake, this is the house to choose."

  • Truly one of a kind

"We had the good fortune to rent this property for a week and it was the most peaceful vacation ever. We arrived at shore lot (the property is 2 minutes away by pontoon boat ride from the shore lot where you park your vehicles) and were met by Al; he showed us the lake area and island property and then the home itself. Al was also very helpful and quick to respond to questions I had prior to renting/arriving as well. The lake was very, very quite the entire time we were there.. We literally had the lake to ourselves which we took advantage of with our jet ski's, peaceful cruises on the pontoon and we used the kayak and canoe boats that came with the property often. This is a very natural lake and not jammed with tons of homes along the shore which makes the whole area simply gorgeous. While we were there some of the tree tops were just beginning to turn red, I imagine this would be an amazing sight in October. The island itself is awesome - about a 1/2 mile long I think from the house to the other end of island. There are great trails to walk and fun area's to explore on the island. We all walked these trails multiple times a day it was so fun. Chipmonks and cranes were fun to watch. The home was perfect for us - cozy with lots of very comfortable area's to relax and chat or just chill (the living room, loft area upstairs, deck chairs & adirondack chairs out side, picnic table outside, seating around firepit, indoor dining table, etc). Beds were comfortable , kitchen had everything we needed (oils, spices, zip bags, foil, dish detergent, coffee, sugar, ice, etc). We appreciated the washer/dryer & detergent and having WIFI internet was great for when we needed to check in with the rest of the world! There is a television here (2 channels only-which was fine for us) and a DVD player for the Netflix movies we brought. We went into Traverse City twice which was an easy drive (13 miles), but afterwards leaving the city and coming back to Namaste Island was, by far, the best part! Many thanks to Linda for making your amazing retreat available for our family to enjoy and to Al for ensuring our trip was excellent."

  • Great Cabin!

"The cabin was great! Awesome view from the deck! There is not much of a beach area, however if you go out to the island, there is plenty of sand for the kids to play around in. I brought a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids). This cabin is perfect for this size family. The description makes it appear there is more sleeping arrangements then there actually is. I had my in-laws up for a few days and the sleeping was a little cramped. First of all, the second bedroom does not have two full beds. One of them was a cot on a fold up metal frame that collapsed all the time (I took the mattress off the frame and placed it on the floor which my daughter was fine with). Second of all, I do not believe the sofa is a pull out. It is a wood frame sofa that barely could fit me stretched out (I'm only 5'6). Overall, the cabin was great! Very clean and centrally located! We went to downtown TC with ease as well as many other attractions, including Sleeping Bear Dunes and famous Moomer's Ice Cream (only 3 miles away). Also, I only saw one paddle board. There were a couple other flotation devices that I would definitely not describe as paddle boards, however the one paddle board was very nice! The weekend I was there, it was very private. Neighbors on one side only on weekends and I did not see the other neighbors at all. Overall, very satisfied. I would like to return next year."
