  • Excellent location for a family getaway

"We are a family of five including three teenagers ranging from 5'4" to 6'3". We've learned that renting a home is more comfortable and affordable than two rooms or a suite at a hotel or resort. For our trip to Leelanau area, Cedar Cabin was the perfect accommodation. Four bedrooms, a master suite and wireless broadband ensured all had a getaway spot when needed. Everything was functional, well maintained and clean for our arrival. All linens are included and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and silverwear. The cupboards included a shelf of interesting spices, and above the coffee maker the fixin's for the morning's brew. We left some coffee beans for the next guests. Hint: use the hand grinder for a more even grind! The cabin is located about half way between Cedar, Glen Arbor and Leland ensuring civilization was less than 30 mins away. We spend a day climbing sleeping bear dunes (30 min drive), another kayaking the Platte (40 min drive) and a couple more exploring the parks, lighthouses and wineries of Mission and Leelanau peninsulas. Each was a comfortable day trip allowing for lazy mornings and return for sunset. Speaking of sunset: The deck is guarded by a gargoyle we named "Hank", and offers spectacular views of Little Traverse Lake and Lake Michigan featuring North Manitou Island. We even caught the kids sneaking out to the deck to enjoy the view without the lure of s'mores at the fire pit. If circumstances permit would we return? Absolutely!"

  • Great Lake front property and walking distance to downtown.

"Jesse and her family have an incredible cottage that has it all! She over services you and will help you with anything that comes up during your visit. The home is very clean and has all the amenities that you need. Northport downtown is a cute up north destination that has it great restaurants and shopping."

  • Beautiful week at a beautiful lake house...

"Intermediate Lake has been a home away from home for my family since 1983, and the Bellaire area for my father's family since the 60's. I grew up staying at Holiday Shores resort on Intermediate Lake for a week every August. We ventured away for several years staying on several other lakes throughout Northern Michigan, but our hearts were always at Intermediate Lake and we longed to go back. We finally returned to Intermediate Lake four years ago staying in a couple of other lake homes, but I would have to say this was all around my favorite spot. We had such a great time in this beautiful lake house. The layout is so open and airy with windows lining the entire front giving views of the lake from every angle. The house is decorated so nicely with pretty comfy furniture and an amazing dining room table. We loved having the fully finished walkout basement for added hang out space and the second refrigerator downstairs was perfect while we were down by the water. The outdoor furniture is very nice and comfortable. We were very impressed with how well everything is kept. We rented a pontoon for a couple of days allowing us to get out and enjoy the beauty of the entire lake and go to the sandbar for some great swimming. We loved taking the kayaks and paddle boat out at dust and dawn while the lake was calm and glassy. So peaceful. We found getting into the water from the shore pretty tricky with all the large rocks but the neighbor Tom was very nice in letting us use his frontage. Stairs with a railing off the dock or the shoreline would be ideal, especially for older people if the rocks are necessary to prevent erosion. But with that being said, in all of our years we have never stayed in a more friendly community. All of the neighbors are so amazing and inviting. Jerry, even invited us over to his "man cave" boat house to watch the game, etc. What a nice guy! Our daily walks were met with smiling faces and hellos. The "Secret Garden" at the bend in the road was so cute and fun to walk through. And the people of Central Lake itself are all so nice. We felt like a part of the community from the moment we pulled in the driveway. I would highly recommend visiting the Blue Pelican in Central Lake during your stay here. The outdoor tiki bar is so fun with live music and great service. This was our first family vacation without my dad. And we could not have asked for a better place. He would have love it. Thank you for a great stay."

  • Wonderful Family Spot!

"The house was clean, well maintained, beautiful landscaping, great backyard. With a family of children ages 6-18, the yard provided excellent play opportunities along with public waterfront and park in the front. The park/beach got very crowded, as would be expected, but we benefitted by having our boat in a protected slip in the marina just 100 yards away. The beds were very comfortable, the linens lovely and the kitchen well equipped. I would recommend this property to families who love to be outdoors, able to take advantage of the biking, boating, paddle boarding, and swimming. It is not at all private so don't rent if you are looking for a romantic getaway! Being able to walk to groceries, restaurants, ice cream and bakery were ideal. Thank you!"
