  • Great Vacation!

"This was our first visit to the Leelanau Penninsula. My husband and I chose this place partly because of its waterfront location. It was a great choice! The apartment was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. The owners were very welcoming and made sure all of our questions were answered. The location was perfect for us since it was much more relaxing than staying in the village of Suttons Bay. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to do while in the Leelanau area. We loved being able to ride our bikes from the property to the TART trail less than three miles away. We enjoyed swimming and using the kayaks. And, of course, we looked forward to the lovely sunsets each evening. Our week turned out to be abnormally warm, but the lake breezes helped to keep the apartment cool enough to be comfortable. We definitely recommend this place."

  • A great place to stay for a week or a weekend

"We recently returned from a week at Debbie and Jeff's cottage on their farm near the village at Sutton's Bay. It is in a quiet and picturesque location behind the main house and shares a back yard with a fountain and grill with the residence. Pastures and the horse barn are behind the cottage. We counted about a dozen horses on the property. The cottage is very well appointed with a large L shaped leather sofa, easy chair, writing desk and TV equipped with cable in the sitting area. The kitchenette is against a back wall. Track lighting, some of which is controlled by a rheostat, illuminates the kitchenette and living area. The bedroom and bath are through a door in the rear of the cottage. The bed was very comfortable. We were there for a family reunion in Northport, and my brother and sister-in-law occupied the bed in the loft for two nights. The access is up a ladder against the wall that goes straight up. It helps to be in decent condition to make the climb. This is a quibble, however, and we are glad the extra bed in the loft exists. Whoever did the design and renovation of the building did an excellent job. We needed extra refrigerator space because of food prepared for the reunion, and Jeff made available the refrigerator in the spectator area of the horses barn. Both Jeff and Debbie were very attentive to any needs we expressed. We walked to Sutton's Bay one morning, and found the best route is to cross the M-22 by Northern Building supply and follow the road down the drive along the lake shore. If you like burgers and locally brewed beer in a picnic/beer garden setting, stop at the Hop Lot. on M-22 just before town. We would definitely stay again."

  • Beach Luxury in Suttons Bay

"I was first shocked when I pulled up to this home which appears to be from a picture in a magazine and the inside exceeded all my expectations. Everything in the house is high end including the appliances, beautiful granite even in the laundry room, very private location with a large yard probably on almost an acre. We stayed with 2 other couples which was perfect with everyone having their separate levels of the house and plenty of space to spread out. Our kids stayed the second half of our week and the stay was not long enough. Their is also a very nice deck right off the kitchen/master bedroom to enjoy coffee in the morning as well as a patio with access in the lower level with additional seating. The location cannot be beat as well. We walked to town each day for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The beach in town is within walking distance, but also check out Van's Beach in Leland which is a short 15 min. drive. So much to do in the area for adults and kids. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!"

  • Everything you need and more....

"My family had an awesome time at Baylake Cottage, it was close to everything. Chris has the cottage well prepared for your visit. The weather was perfect and the sunrises were amazing down by the lake. There is plenty of room for everyone. Some of the places we went to: Sleepng Bear Dunes, Hop Lot Brewery (down the road), Wineries and Hansons Groceries has anything you forgot. There is plenty to do in this area. Enjoy your stay."
