  • Perfect Walloon Vacation Spot

"Our experience could not have been better. The location of this darling cottage is ideal. There are stunning lake views from every room. Our two teenage boys loved the large dock, with kayaks, paddle boards, and even an optional boat rental. The porch was so peaceful in the morning having coffee, in the rocking chairs, to the evenings enjoying the sunset. The house has a new kitchen, with good size bedrooms, with their own lovely baths. It was qaintly decorated, not cluttered, but has everything you could possibly need. We inquired about buying the cottage from the owners, if that tells you how much we liked it!!!!"

  • Gorgeous Area!

"Just got back from a weeks stay. The area is gorgeous. Not far from Traverse City. House was clean and well pre-pared for our arrival. A couple bottles of wine as gifts were a nice surprise. There is a book put together to give you ideas on local attractions and such. We did struggle finding boat rentals but when I emailed Sarah she responded quickly. Adding boat rentals in the book would be nice. As well as local vets. We had to find a vet to take our dog. If you have kids, make sure you bring water shoes for sure. Lots of rocks in the water up until you hit the dock. After that is it very sandy. The water is shallow for a ways so its pretty kid friendly in that respect. No sandy beach. The weather this summer is extremely warm so even with the air conditioner running upstairs it was difficult to cool the downstairs. But under normal circumstances, this probably would not be an issue. Loved having the option of gas grill or charcoal. The upstairs deck has 2 sets of furniture so it seats many people. Downstairs patio has lots of chairs and a bar set up too. Great seating for the outdoor fire pit. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed the area. It is a family friendly location and also very dog friendly. Thank you for offering your great cottage to us! Carolyn Pyret"

  • Amazing, Charming, and FUN!

"We loved our stay at the Barn Cottage! The decor is beautiful (lovely furnishings), charming (antique farm tools), and amusing (hilarious signs/posters)! The house was spotless, with every amenity we needed. Booking was very friendly and easy. We enjoyed the pontoon boat, kayaks, fire pit, hammock, pool table, games, movies...the list goes on (we kept saying: "They've thought of EVERYTHING for the perfect amazing vacation!" ). The setting is gorgeous: it feels like you're in a tree house when looking out the windows or sitting on the deck. There is a long wooden board walk that meanders through the woods back to the lake. The walk is just beautiful and so relaxing- then you arrive at the breathtaking lake! Wow! So pretty and, again, outfitted with everything you want or need: deck, fire pit, fire wood, chairs, hammock, life jackets, pontoon boat, row boat, kayaks.... Can't wait to return!"
