  • Cabin au Bord du Lac

"This is a very comfortable, cozy cabin with a fabulous view of Portage Lake. Morning sunrises are unbelievably beautiful. Houghton - Chassel trail runs directly behind the cabin and provides easy access to either location. Centrally located in Keweenaw Country, you can be in Copper Harbor in less than an hour or in Baraga or L'Anse in about 30 minutes. This is a great place if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing cabin. Sharon is a great hostess. Only shortcoming is lack of a TV, which was only an issue because of our visit coinciding with the opening weekend of NFL football. Suitable for no more than three people due to its small size."

  • Charming and memorable!

"My husband and 2 daughters (8 & 9) and I had an incredible time at the cottage and in the area. We were able to see the most incredible sunrises and countless stars! We heard the water at night, which sounded like the ocean. The cottage was clean, cozy and had everything we could need. We toured the Quincy mines, saw Lake on the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains, Brockway Mountains, Copper Harbor, many waterfalls and lighthouses, stopped at the Jam Lady, toured Fort Wilkins, brought our boat and fished some lakes and hiked to the Estivant Pines. Just thinking about it all is making me tear up. We all miss the cottage and area already. I most definitely recommend this cottage and area, it's just perfect! We will definitely be back, Jan! Thank you!!"

  • Loved it!

"We stayed here for 4 days while snowmobiling in the area. The house was very comfy, clean, warm and homey. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We really appreciated the large parking area for our 4-place trailer and being close to the snowmobile trails. It was a great experience!"

  • Had a great time, nice house.

"Father son trip. Had a fun time. The sleeping capacity is kind of over stated. Only other issue is it is not a ride in ride out snowmobile location. Trails in area are not maintained and there is no legal access to the trails from the house. Had to run 41 for a short time to get to town. Got turned around on the power line access to trails by homeowner after we asked. Ended up trailering to Houghton which isn't bad. Wondered around looking for parking. Police told us to park at fairgrounds which was a great spot."
