  • BEAUTIFUL GETAWAY IN GORGEOUS NORTHERN MI

"As a resident of Chicago, I was looking for a scenic get away for my husband's 30th birthday. Booking this "cottage" (it's a big house!) was more than perfect as family joined us from all over the state. The back outdoor terrace was our favorite place to hang out, drink wine, grill dinner and take in the outstanding views! We even saw the northern lights one night while sitting by the fire as we listened to the waves lap upon the shoreline - SWOON! This rental has so much to offer! TWO full kitchens, and two living rooms (both with the view of the bay). We had 4 couples and everyone had their own bedroom and own bathroom. Tom, the owner, has everything from linens and towels to kitchen utensils and multiple dining sets. This house is fully equipped with large windows and multiple balconies facing the bay, so at anytime you can take in the most amazing view - whether it be while sipping morning coffee or enjoying a glass of your favorite red at sunset! If you want to relax and enjoy good quality time with friends and family - do yourself a favor and BOOK THIS RENTAL! I will be back to make more lasting memories with the ones I love! Thank you, Tom! It was a pleasure meeting you and will certainly see you again!"

  • Great location, comfy cottage

"Stayed a week in September to see my sister in Petoskey. Nicely located in Oden, about a 10 to 15 minute drive to Petoskey and a 40 minute drive from Mackinaw/Mackinac (apparently they are pronounced "aw"). We went to Whitefish point in the UP and then to Sault Sainte Marie in Ontario; spent a day on Mackinac Island. We didn't but fudge or a T-shirt as that did not enhance the beauty of the Island. Then, there is the bike trail just out the backyard: paved to the west you can get to Petoskey and beyond or up to Bay View. To the east the trail is hard gravel and you could ride to Mackinaw, jump on a ferry and ride around the Island. While I certainly didn't ride all that way, I could have done it on my single geared bike as the trail is old railroad bed and flat: I am looking forward to doing that on my next visit. The cottage in Northwoods comfortable, it lacks for nothing. The water is artesian well water -- which makes for good beer as I discovered at the Petoskey Brewing company just down the trail. Would I rent there again? You bet!"

  • Great Value an Conveniently Located

"The house is well maintained and all the basics are there. If you like a firm bed, you will be very happy with the sleeping arrangements. Bring your own pillows if you like down. The kitchen is very basic, so if you want to do some cooking, bring your own spices and such. Also, the knives aren't very sharp, so you might want to bring your own. The charcoal grill works just fine for outdoor cooking and if you go in the fall, you might just get some garden fresh tomatoes or peppers and some pears off the fruit trees. We loved that the house is right near the Bear River trail head. It's a quick walk into town and a beautiful place just to hang out. Jim is super nice and easy to work with."

  • Exceeded our Expectations

"It was amazing! We stayed at the White Fence Carriage Suite for six nights and hated to leave. The suite is beautiful, peacefully located, and exceptionally clean. Waking up in the morning and looking out at the bay was incredible. The owners are wonderful people who really care about keeping their property pristine. They left us a welcome assortment of food items that enabled us to eat in that evening and relax after our trip. So thoughtful and appreciated. The suite is private, yet located within walking distance to town and a gourmet grocery store. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the area-- Wineries, Great restaurants, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. We were so happy staying here. You will be also."
