  • Wonderful family getaway!

"The lake was a great place to celebrate the 4th of July. The house was clean and comfortable. Plenty of seating for meals and relaxing. Paddle boat was a blast for the kids! Would definitely recommend for a family vacation."

  • Maynard House made our Big Chill weekend

"When planning a special Ann Arbor weekend for my 25th undergrad reunion, as well as my husband's 20 B-School reunion, I came across this house on VBRO and thought it might be a great place to gather. The house was immaculate and very comfortably slept 11 of us. While we did flip for the two basement bedrooms, the bathroom on that level is very nice and no one felt shorted. The house was perfectly located for every weekend activity - Main St, Zingerman's, Angelo's and Michigan stadium all a short walk away. We were constantly gathered in the well appointed kitchen, comfortable LR and in front of the enormous TV to watch the Cub's win the playoffs. One of the best memories of the weekend -- our group photo on the front lawn reenacting the Big Chill movie poster. We are already plotting our return in 5 years and friends who were enamored of Maynard House have hinted that they will try to poach this house. Not on our watch!!! Thank you for making the booking easy and the stay such a pleasure. The house really was central to a memorable weekend."

  • Relaxing Vacation with our Large Family.

"Our large family, of up to 18 at times, enjoyed a week at the Hemlock Lake House. We came prepared with all our own linens as necessary for the rental. We used the washer and dryer multiple times every day and they worked great. The kitchen was stocked wonderfully for a large group with plenty of everything. There was a good variety of cooking pots large and small, large bowls, and plenty of utensils. Your pancake griddle was very useful and worked wonderfully. The house came with a nice supply of indoor and outdoor games and puzzles. We were also very excited by the supply of kayaks large and small and other boats that were at the house for our use. Your pier for the boats was just right and we enjoyed swimming in the water in front of the house and floating on our rafts. The lake was great with the time in the morning and evening for calmer waters. We spent a lot of time exploring the lake at all hours. I think my favorite was at 10 pm just staring up at the stars. The selection of life preservers was much more thorough then I expected with adult and youth jackets. There was also plenty of outdoor chairs on upper and lower deck areas. I would be happy to share your property info with any of my friends who are interested in renting your house. My husband and I, and our boys on their sleeping bags, enjoyed the master bedroom. The view was great and my husband had a very good pair of noise cancelling headphones that let him go to bed at 10:00 and not be bothered by the games and talk that were going on below. We used all the types of beds except for the pull out couch and they were good. Your house is beautiful and we enjoyed reading your families history that is framed by the door. What a blessed story."

  • Beautiful apartment close to Main Street

"My wife and I were in town for parent's weekend. We were fortunate to get the 1st floor apartment. Beautiful apartment. Very comfortable, with plenty of space, and had very nice amenities (heated floors!). The location was perfect for us; walking distance to everything, but in a quiet location. We did not have a car and could get to everything on campus/town by walking. So nice to have a leisurely breakfast in the dining room with the sun shining in, and then walk to the big house for the game later that day. Terri was very accommodating and thoughtful."
