  • Beautiful place, lots of fun.

"The home is beautiful, with plenty of nooks to explore. The kitchen is great for cooking, there are plenty of beds and bedding, the hot-tub is lovely. We went to several nearby breweries and the dunes, so it is close to attractions. Great place to meet up with old friends or have a family trip!"

  • Stylish and clean!

"Fenn Hill is beautifully decorated in a delightfully unfussy yet eclectic modern farmhouse style, and is spotlessly clean. It is thoughtfully appointed in all areas, from the kitchen stocked with every kind of pot and pan you could possibly need, to the basket of puzzles and games in the living room that appeals to all ages. Our 4-night stay was exactly what our family of 5 (two parents and three older teenagers) needed for rest, relaxation and re-connecting. For those that might care, the area is super-rural and not walkable to anything (except possibly the winery next door). It suited us fine, though, and we had fun exploring the towns of Fennville and Saugatuck, and particularly enjoyed our (adult only) visit to Virtue Cider, just down the road. Thank you, Skip, for creating such a welcoming environment!"

  • The setting and view can't be beat!

"The house is a bit rough around the edges but the amazing setting, breathtaking views, lovely private beach and incredibly nice owners with their fabulous dog Daisy make it five stars. It's really an incredible location. Never seen anything like it. And the owners couldn't be nicer or more laid back. There's a second less rustic cabin on the property which we have also stayed at and is lovely. We plan to come back here every year. Thanks Harrington's!"

  • Hot summer, cooling lake breezes, perfect spot!

"This is a wonderfully designed and built cottage in an ideal location. This was a family vacation bringing three generations together, and everyone agreed that this was overall the best house and location we have stayed at in 13 years of coming to the Saugatuck area. The charming, large cottage and lovely view on a warm, shallow corner of Hutchins Lake makes it perfect for the kids. Having two paddleboards, two kayaks, a canoe, floats, bikes, tennis courts, games... It made such a difference having so much on site for the kids, ages 2-16 (and adults) to do. It was so relaxing to not have to load up the cars and drive to the beach in order to keep the kids outside, busy and happy. When indoor quiet time was needed for the adults, the upstairs tv/game room was perfect for the kids. Meanwhile, the screened porch was the perfect napping spot for the occasional adult. Oval beach, which we love, was only 20 minutes away, but honestly felt closer. My husband was skeptical about being "so far out" of Saugatuck, but within 24 hours, he was sold and at the end said it was never an issue. Plus, we discovered new, less crowded spots to enjoy, in addition to our favorite Saugatuck/Douglas spots nearby. The house itself is well stocked with quality furnishings and kitchen supplies. We didn't find a blender or a hand mixer, which many people wouldn't need on vacation (we had birthdays), and I was glad I took my electric griddle for pancake morning, but otherwise we found everything we needed, and we did a lot of cooking while there for two weeks. Corey, the owner, was easy to work with and communicate with, and he has someone just a few doors away that can address any on site questions or problems that come up. There is no internet and cell service was sometimes marginal. AT&T worked pretty well most of the time, and as a hot spot, but T-mobile on my iPad did not work at all. The gorgeous bushes along the lake side of the house have turned out to be a taller variety than those on the side, and now hide much of the lake view from the porches, but that's not the worst problem to have. We are looking forward to returning again next year, and hopefully beyond!"
